Because the answer shouldn’t be the same as the last 9 yrs…wait till next year.
And getting big name coaches to jump just doesn’t happen, Mike White being the one off. So you can afford to take a chance on an up and comer, just like Beth was, and let them build. And as long as you finish Middle of the pack SEC, you haven’t downgraded any.

I just think it’s fair to allow them to get the next 2 classes in and evaluate when contracts are up in 2028..it’s not that big of difference. It’s also what’s most likely to happen based on decisions we have made in football and both bball programs..

Yeah, I think I referenced that earlier. And if you’re ok with middle of the pack SEC being a top 15 program by default, then by all means keep the insanity going.

Where in the world did the new 3-4 softball haters come from? They make even Tiger DCCC look like a rationale softball poster.

I’m trying to figure out, what makes a person that wants the softball team to be better than they are haters?
I would think just the opposite, those that wish the program to stay the same, you know not win anything of significance are the haters.

It’s like Beth offended them somehow, they are far more vocal about Beth than any other coach on campus. I’m not really sure why, great rep for our school, will be a HOF coach and stands for all the right things. Does that mean she is perfect heck no, I wish she would take pitching off her plate but overall we could do much much worse than Beth Torina.

Honestly, with revenue sharing & NIL, if they are getting paid, I hate to say the players are now fair game for criticism here. The world of college sports has changed and not in a good way IMHO. In the past, I would never say a negative thing about a player here, but now... not so sure anymore.

with the way LSU softball started this season, you have to give credit to the staff for the overall body of work

Why so many? This transfer portal crap in all sports is ridiculous. There must be limits set once again for transfer eligibility. Got to be a nightmare for head coaches in all sports.

losing to alabama wasn't the downfall of the team. Losing too many games during season to draw the bad super regional seeding was the fault. They should have done a bit better, too many bad streaks in SeC play.

I bet half the people defending Beth don’t even watch Softball. There is no way you can be a fan of softball and be happy with what they have done since 2018.
They struggle against the best teams in league play, which is why they are always middle of the pack.
They are 2-10 in the last 5 supers appearances. And have lost 2 home regionals to in state schools the last few years. Hell I bet some of you don’t even know Beth had her best hitting team in a decade in 2025 only the lose to Southeastern in a home regional.
If you want to argue muh it’s softball who cares, I get it. But if you care about results at all she has failed since 2018. And honestly her results of hosting a regional every year is inflated because softball has so little parity. You think baseball would be hosting going ~.500 in conference play every year?

I disagree. I think the biggest voices are just bottom line fans who have no realistic idea of the challenge to take a program to elite level and who will complain until someone else finally gets them there. They apply standards from football and baseball to the softball program, which is absurd.
LSU isn't one of the big boys in softball. It just isn't. It is going to have to break through and then capitalize on that when it happens. But, being surprised / disappointed that LSU is in the middle of the SEC is kind of dumb. Middle of the SEC is around 15 and on the cusp of making it to the next level.
