i cant believe you started a post about this are you freaking serious this has absolutely nothing to do with the players attitude they are just getting pumped for the game. i'm in disbelieve over some the posts that have been on here lately.

I heard that guy. Jordy and Doug said they were going to bring it up to whoever is in charge of that bullshite.
Here's my opinion: Just. Freaking. Win. Wear whatever you want as long as it gets you in the game.
These are kids, man. I don't know why you expect them to be anything else. They aren't thinking about the glory of the purple and gold, Billy Cannon's run, the earthquake game, etc. They probably don't even know about any of it, or care. They're 18-22 year old kids here to just play football.
If someone tells them to take their earbuds out and step and fetch, it's probably just going to piss them off. Would you rather that?

The problem with this statement is that shareholders usually have a say in the way the company is ran. Fans do not have any such say.

Well, I agree with the OP. I don't think it's too much to ask to pop out your headphones for a couple of minutes when you're in the presence of the fans. It looks unprofessional and sloppy.
If it takes 2 hours of uninterrupted music to get you in the "mind-set" to play football, then you shouldn't be playing football. That means you don't have the mental toughness to play to begin with, and the music is just a charade to fool yourself.
Save the music for the locker room when you're stretching and getting dressed.
Otherwise, look like a player, and not a shiftless clown.

Sorry, but that's incorrect, sir. Tell that to those of us who remember a near-empty Tiger Stadium during the lean years. You stop selling tickets to the point you see LSU MAKING THE PLAYERS DO RADIO SPOTS BEGGING PEOPLE TO COME OUT AND SUPPORT LSU FOOTBALL, and you are reminded in the harshest terms possible just how incorrect that statement really is.
Yeah- the fans matter. They may not be sitting in on team meetings- but if they stop sitting in where it really counts- on game day, trust me, they get their point across.
If you think LSU Football isn't a MONSTER business, you are beyond help.

I think I've heard it all now. What more could we POSSIBLY find to bitch about. Headphones? MOTHER frickING HEADPHONES???? Surely you can't be serious. There's just no way your life could be that miserable that you have to bitch about our players wearing headphones. Jesus tap dancing Christ!

A guy was just on Jordy Hultberg's radio show and brought up what I think is a pretty good observation.
He was at the UNC game "pep rally" last week in Atlanta. Coach Miles led the team out to the roar of fans- and a good portion of the players were wearing headphones.
Headphones.
I know. They are young people. Lots of other schools let their athletes do the same thing.
But people.....I think the guy was right. He's of the opinion that the players gave him the attitude they could give a shite less about being there- and only wanted to listen to their f-ing music.
We are NOT other schools. We are better than that.
For the time being, THIS IS THEIR JOB. They represent LSU- it is their "firm", and the fans are the "shareholders". If an employee went into a business meeting wearing a f-ing set of headphones listening to the latest rap tunes, he'd probably get his arse fired sooner rather than later. It shows a blatant lack of seriousness, dicipline, and respect- just my opinion.
The shareholders deserve better. Just as we would have them wear proper attire, we should have them lay down the MP3 players for 15 minutes while meeting the fans. This is not the NFL.
Is that asking too much?

At certain times your are 100% correct! I don't know when this episode happened or at what point it happened, but yes, these dumbasses should be focusing on the playbook and other things rather than listening to music.
I guarantee they aren't doing that shite in front of Mack Brown, Saban, or Paterno.
Especially when our team COMPLETELY loses focus and discipline during the game.
It's the big picture, and listening to music isn't a bad thing, it's just when everythin is combined as a whole, focus and discipline are lost with these guys under Miles. And we know he doesn't have the balls to discipline anyone. He taps them on the helmet for getting 15 yd personal fouls when we are scrapping to hold a lead late in the game.
He's NOT a leader, get used to it.
