Agreed that was pretty weak on his part but also seeing this view that defender got to Harris early leading to the pick 6. Should have been PI.

Wow. Shitty effort by 4 also. You gonna let a DB from la tech push you around like that?

He did the same thing on the other long interception return.

Contrast that with Seaton and Leavitt busting their butts for the team.

You can’t bench your best receiver. It’s crazy to think he’s even our best receiver when, realistically, he’s probably a WR3 on most teams. But we went the cheap route at receiver, and now we’re paying for it.

That whole play looked weird. Very poor effort by all involved.

Standstill position vs a fast dude running with a full head of steam. Not sure what yall are thinking, but slim to no chance Winnie would have caught him with zero angle from a dead stop.

Winnie isn’t Xavier Carter either.

Should have tried though for many reasons and also so Rant wouldn’t create an overblown narrative.

That’s a pretty weak route all around. Hope that gets called out in film.

I don’t think he would have caught him either & likely thought Seaton would get him. You’d like to see him try but also this is a performative-arse fan base

With that kind of effort we lose ball games…

All it takes is one player slightly getting in his way and making him slow down in order for him to be caught. It happens all the time. We would’ve never known on this play though because Watkins gave up immediately.

Yes Lester, I as an LSU fan would indeed like to see LSU players try.

Yea his route was worse than not trying to catch a guy running full speed with zero angle.

Though yes with full effort if anyone could have slowed him down he could have caught up.

This ref crew missed that pi, missed a ton of holding calls against our dline, allowed two very late hits as well against DJ and Sam. The sec needs to answer for these mistakes.

That’s probably why we have different thoughts on the matter. I don’t see things as a “fan”. Watkins has looked very engaged in both games. In fact, he ran the defender down on the first INT. I’m sure they’ll talk to him. Bench him, no lol.

Yea he shouldn’t be benched, it’s more like an arse chewing for lack of effort on how he ran that route and a coaching point that he should have been hustling behind the play incase Seaton or Sam made him have to stop and reverse course

Yeah there’s plenty to be excited about but we seem to lack a high end guy like we have been used to having. I dont see anyone of these WR as a home run threat. I could be wrong.

I’m not saying he wasn’t engaged in both games. His effort on this specific play was pathetic though. I’d say that same thing if he was John Doe playing for any other team in the country as well.
