re: Hate to say it, but Matt House will be a hot commodity.

You have no idea if he wants to be a head coach. If he wants to run a defense, why would he go anywhere else? LSU will be as good as anyone in the country as long as BK is our coach.

I think House will stay here at least through 2023 and probably 2024. With more talent coming, House may look like a defensive genius by 2024.

He’s not going to get legitimate P5 HC offers which will be his next move. I think we’ve got a couple of years. Freeman wouldn’t have gotten the ND job either if he weren’t already there. You need more than 1 good season as DC of a major program (yes I know he was at Kentucky but not a football school) to get those opportunities usually.

Hilarious. You been saving that one up or did it just come to you and you had to rush here to post it? Feel as good as you thought?

Correct - everyone is downvoting my post (which I knew they would). Without Perkins LSU loses to Bama & Arky & people think anyone would care about House. It’s bizarre. (Not saying he’s not a good coach).

Honestly, he's worth giving over 5 mil/year and associate HC/HCIW title. Maybe more than that. No, I'm not joking and before any of you is shocked by that figure ask yourself this. Wouldn't it be worth paying him a HC salary to keep LSU producing and recruiting at this level and giving him the job when Kelly retires? House is 44. The dude could potentially be coaching at LSU the next 3 decades. Now, imagine a 30 year dynasty that makes Saban's run at Bama look like USC's 2000's dynasty.

It’s very uncommon and not the normal path if that was his goal
The caveat is he’s already done his 101 course in the nfl(he’s had two stints in the NFL).
Most coaches coming straight from college have to be a position coach first.
The current Ravens DC mike macdonald took this same path.
Quality control, UGA
Ravens LB coach
Michigan DC
Baltimore DC
I agree the SEC money is good. I just don’t see him as a HC. I also have no clue what his ultimate goal is. Defensive guys are just becoming less desirable as head coaches

I don’t think I’ve ever heard him speak, so I don’t know about his personality.
I’ll be shocked if he’s not LSU DC for at least a couple more years.

It’s ok. Brent Venables will be looking for a job about the time we lose House.

I think he’s better than Aranda. Just his schemes and the way he mixes things up. He’s been very successful with less overall talent than what Aranda had. Hope he stays at least another year or two.
Plus it’s not like our HC will be too busy slaying poon to find time to do an actual in person interview for his replacement…..

Some of y’all are insecure af. Take it how you want. I’m as positive as u can be about this season. Sorry this thought I had is so threatening and depressing to you. It’s an internet message board. Everyone here writes thoughts they have about LSU. Quit taking message board thoughts so seriously that you feel the need to lecture everyone about your 40 years of fandom and what thoughts they can or can’t have. It’s strange how threatened some of y’all get when someone posts a thought that is plausible and actually makes sense given the circumstances. It’s not like I’m over here terrified about it. I’d just rather see House stick around, but I fully trust BK to keep rolling regardless. But I will say that House has become one of my favorite DC’s we’ve ever had, and I hope he sticks around. It’s as simple as that. But, hey, if you want to make that into some insidious negativity, knock yourself out.

No, I just came up with it the second I wrote it. It did feel pretty good. But I’m glad you read so much into it that you just had to write some weird response.

We never had to worry about anyone poaching Curley or any of his staff.

Well he was in the NFL and said he preferred college ball more because of the family environment etc.

MVP of the season IMO.
We are not close to the position we are in without him.
One more year please!
