In my 40's, LSU fan to the core... I can't recall a more tumultuous time for LSU athletic program than what's going on right now. The Dale Brown / Lester Earl thing never really got out of control like this seems to be headed towards.

Social media makes scandals like this exponentially more interactive and explosive

People are refreshing every couple minutes to see if anything new has surfaced.

agree, if hes canned the same people are still in the same roles for the next coach.

and there is nothing we can do about it.

A. NCAA threatened L. Earl and made him lie... They were after Dale
B. The poster on Effects of Social Media 24/7 is spot on too
C. This too shall pass, as usual
D. There are many more "crazy Politics" in everything nowadays
E. The real question now is does the OLOL money have something to do with LSU athletics... If so... F King and Joe A will both be gone ...

Born in 84 and I have never been more nervous in my lifetime. The leadership makes Joe Dean look like Harry Truman.

Not in my lifetime but the direction of the entire school itself, athletic program included, is very similar to the mid 70s when it was nearly destroyed beyond repair. This time with these scumbags they may succeed.

I’m 41. The WW Days Of Our Lives is the worst during my lifetime. There were 2 that that happened before the current LSU Brass vs WW shite show.

1. The 80’s Oil Glut almost shutdown LSU despite the Big 3 having a successful run. It forced Joe Dean to operate in the Red which the long term effect brought on the LSU Foorball Dark era. Facilities were an absolute dump to borderline insane asylum. The LSU BOS politically meddled in LSU athletics on a weekly basis especially Charlie Cusimano and Dr Jack Andonie who had this ridiculous view you can hire coaches on the cheap because LSU fans still pack the valley. Lot of volatility and uncertainty during that time.

2. The Long NCAA Witch-hunt of Dale Brown that ended up being a soft version of the Death Penalty to LSU Men’s BB. The NCAA hates Dale Brown and used coercion on Lester Earl if he didn’t spill anything on Dale brown. After threatening to shorten Earl’s eligibility, Lester caved. Similar violations at other schools were mainly a wrist slap. But the NcAa has such a hard on to bust Dale. LSU got the hammer with two scholarships taken away per year for three years and the forced LSU to four initial scholarship offers over the first two years of the probation. According to some, It had a worse effect than the Dearh Penalty. In fact the Lester earl story brought context to the ncaa overstepping their authority reports by the media. Remember Bob Lea doing one. That fall Dinardo shite the bed in the ‘98 season. Dr Jenkins was dealing with the post Ben Wynne National fall out and led to him turning his name for the LSU systems post which brought Emmert to LSU.

Emmert had his own scandal that could have went completely sideways. It was in Saban’s 2nd year. The academic scandal where an instructor accused LSU of academic fraud which ended up being far worse than what was told in the early 2000s. Some said Emmert covered it up. It wasn’t that it but more of the fact that Emmert knew how to handle it. Years later the accusation turned out to be true and was more systemic than LSU ever knew.

The WW vs The LSU Brass shite show is far worse than both especially with more context added to OLOL money laundering story

No doubt. 20 years ago we’d be depending on Tiger Rag and the advocate. I almost prefer the old way.

Has not a single damn thing to do with truth or actual facts, it's all 100 percent sensationalized catastrophe, over blown truths and speculation. It's because the media wants to make money off any story they can and by making more of a story than there is sells more. That's all there is to it. At no point has WW admitted to actually giving a recruit/family/middleman any money or anything that violates NCAA rules. The FBI investigated the damn thing and found nothing on WW. It only makes more of a story because LSU is having one of the best seasons in school history and the public wants to take down a winner. If people would quit listening to the fricking media that feed off disaster and negativity this situation wouldn't look so grim. And when WW has the opportunity to testify and the full story is told everyone is going to feel like they were played by national media (because they are) and the national media are going to look like a bunch of fools. THERE IS NO PROOF OR EVIDENCE THAT WILL WADE CHEATED OR VIOLATED ANY NCAA RULES! If you ask anyone that says he has violated NCAA rules what rules he violated they can't tell you anything.

Me too, but that's only because of our current perception. Had the WW story never broke, we would be freaking out over OLOL right now.

It potentially could be better and worse at the same time depending on this OLOL situation. Better by the fact if the rumors are true that the BOS, Alexander and Alleva knew about the OLOL situation and kept it quiet it could cause a removal of the board and Administration. Something that I think everyone can agree needs to happen. Worse depending on what athletes were involved in it and what sports were involved.

Considering the Dale Brown / Lester Earl thing was 100% fabricated courtesy of Mr. Earl and Roy Williams, yet it cost Dale Brown his job, I'd say it got out of control.

In 1992, after 3 miserable seasons in under Mike Archer, our brilliant Administration went Out and hired Curley Hallman, driving us to another 3 years of getting our asses kicked!

Wha...?

Hallman was hired in 1990. While it's true that Archer was HC at LSU for 3 years, not all 3 were miserable. Archer's first season as HC at LSU gave us the '88 Earthquake game and an SEC championship.
