Are you saying that Burrow is an average college QB?

That's ok.

GOAT
At least IMO, but i grew up as a young tiger fan watching him, Hilliard and Davis tearing it up.

Just saying that your reading comprehension skills are lacking. You read my post and totally couldn't understand a simple statement. Maybe you should take a remedial reading class.

I would hope that most fans would reserve judgment until there's a body of work available in order to come to an objective conclusion.

On pure moxie, I'm going Herb Tyler. Not our most gifted QB, but he made things happen. He's also the QB that really pulled as out of the dark ages and he did it when there was a real ugly fight brewing between a terrible white QB and an awful black QB, so fans were lining up on racial grounds. Tyler ended all of that and prevented an ugly fissure in the fanbase by seizing the job from out of nowhere.

Shockingly, he's fifth all-time in passing yards for LSU, and fourth among QB's in rushing yards. Hell, his 40 passing TD's rank 3rd all-time, and his 63 total TD's only rank behind Hodson.

And he beat Florida in 1997.

Burrow seems a lot more vocal than Flynn. Also more swagger.

I consider Joe a tough and gritty QB. But if he delivers us a win over Bama, I could give flying horse shite what kind of QB you call him.
oh, don't get me wrong, I love Burrow.

I was just questioning whether moxie is dependent on the time spent in a program. Which is nonsense, of course. Guys with moxie, or whatever you want to call it, just have it. It's part of their DNA. It's not something grown and nurtured over time.

Also, if you wanna go old school, Freddie Haynes nickname was literally the Littlest Tiger. He was lightly recruited even for the time, and he only got the starting gig because Nelson Stokely got hurt. But he also guided the team to unlikely upset of Texas A&M in 1966, and got a full profile in SI because of it. He was all moxie.

According to wikipedia, there was eve a poem published in the Baton Rouge paper about him when he was at LSU:

"He's only 5’9" or 10
Statistics tell us all;
But Mr. Freddie plays to win
Like he is ten feet tall.
No man is ever measured by
The feet or inches part;
But by the spirit that the "guy"
Has in his fighting heart—
And if he isn’t tall enough
To touch the Moon, afar;
He may become, when things get rough,
A most outstanding star"

That just screams moxie.

Again, says the guy who responded to my post about the now by stating you'd laugh at me because he'll be good in the future. How do you not realize you lacked comprehension there?

You read my post and totally couldn't understand a simple statement
Nah, I 100% understood, it just wasn't relevant to my topic, hence you didn't comprehend it correctly.

3rd time, I said Burrow is average right now, at best. You respond by telling me you will laugh at me because Burrow will be a good QB when it's all said and done.

Are you still confused as to why you missed the mark here?

How does it make any sense whatsoever to reserve judgment on how Burrow has played through 8 games?

What he does next year has no relevance to his QB play level this season.

He can win the Heisman next season and that won't magically mean he was a better QB through the 1st 7 or 8 games this season.

We had a QB in the late 80's (can't recall the name) who had moxie, but penicillin cleared it up.
