This passing offense has been insane to watch. Just so crisp and polished, so efficient, and I love that we're pushing the ball down the field instead of dinking and dunking.

I'd love to see that paired with a DOMINANT running game; that's just my opinion. You can say it's been fine all you want, but I still say- just imagine if we could run at will too. We haven't yet, and with Fla, Auburn and Alabama down the road, I don't see any signs that we will on them. I hope I'm wrong.

I'd love to talk about it but all anyone wants to do is piss and moan that the defense is "not good" (its perfectly fine).

And yet, you're the only one to bring that up in this thread...

The difference as I see it, is when we had a dominant run game in past years, we had no answer when it got shut down by elite defenses in the SEC. So far it appears that we have viable options if one approach doesn’t work. JMHO

I came to terms with it over the last decade and up to 11 years ago when I repeatedly said Les needs to go because the most talented team in the country shouldn't be in the 100's in offense and losing to teams like bad Arkansas and Ole Miss teams, and beating bad Auburn teams 12-10. Most people disagreed with me, seems like most of those now agree with me.

Funny how that works, some of us are ahead of the times

If we’re going by this logic then there is no top team that has played anyone.

Has anyone come to terms with the defense giving up 30 points a game?

No, not really.

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving it. I always thought CEO would change the offense, but never imagined to this degree.

Because of that huge change I'm still apprehensive that it will continue. Have no reason to think it won't, but it is still hard to shake. Hence, my 'coming to terms' hasn't happened yet.

Plus, I'm like Ricky Bobby and not knowing what to do with his hands when I can't rip on the OC and be uber-critical of the OL.

Well, I can still be uber-critical of the OL... it's in my blood after all these years.

Also #1 in Red Zone scores per game (TDs and FGs)

THAT was our shark to jump. Last year, with Canada, and many years before that.

Very clear evidence that the offense you run at the 50 is the one you should run at goal line (but vary play selection).

If you're running your offense properly, you've 'setup' the defense for particular plays that will yield that TD. The proof is in the pudding.

Lol

Mett was a disaster in 2012, and our defense was a disaster in 2013

You were a moron for calling for a coach to be fired the year after appearing in the NC game

Lets see if this team wins anything before going all in on the HUNH spread. I see a team that could lose 50-48 just as easily as it could have lost 29-0 last year.

The defense has offered plenty to criticize

Scoring offense is the only metric I care about.

Is the purpose of an offense to get first downs, gain yards, or score points?

Score points. IDC how many yards or first downs you have if you can't put up the points.

BOOM! Upvote for you, sir.

No there are miserable fricks saying we need a more balanced running game and the ability to chew more clock.

Yes as well as coming to terms with our defensive situation. It's vital that they dominate against USU. If we continue to have the same problems defensively, beating Fla, Aub, and Bama ain't happening.

I completely agree. I absolutely welcome the points and the wins. It definitely looks like effective and successful football, and I do believe LSU will win more games than the traditional approach. The difficulty I have is telling myself this is LSU football.

I enjoy seeing the I-Formation, Fullbacks, Toss-Dives, and opponents' being held to baseball scores; but seeing LSU winning more football games is more important to me than my preference on how they win the games.

If the coaches can beat the inertia of decades of tradition and metamorphize the team like they have (at our request I should add), then it is very reasonable for us the fans to learn to acquire a taste for this style of ball.

Texas is better than Florida and at least as good as Auburn.

as long as LSU is comfortably outscoring everyone, who cares?

It is the score that gets the W that matters.

3 to GA Southern
38 to Texas
14 to NWST
24 to Vandy

Not only are we NOT giving up 30 points per game, we aren't even giving up 20 points per game. Hell, even in the Texas game we had defensive starters leaving left and right.
