I find it hilarious that people canceled Columbus Day because he also did some bad things (as people did 300 years ago), and these things were ignored because he was a great explorer. Then they replace it with indigenous peoples day, and blatantly ignore all the atrocities committed by native Americans. The Comanche tribe’s actions alone should disqualify this holiday if we want to be consistent.

The arbitrary cutoff of when nation building and by who does fascinate me. People have been killing and enslaving people and taking their land since quite literally the beginning of time.
Columbus = bad
Genghis Khan = uh whatever (was WAY worse than Columbus)
