Doubt it. If Myles transfers he would be way too far away from his fall duck lease.

If it’s Max I guarantee Myles is transferring out. That would leave us very thin at QB.

I just can’t see us playing a two QB system. Myles probably deserves to start but you gotta go with the guy with more upside.

I hear this, and I hear people say that Max is watching film all the time while Brennan just messes around.

I just find it hard to believe. If the competition is a close as everyone says it is surely Myles realizes it. And while he may not have that killer mentality like Joe Burrow, I have to believe that he wants to play and be QB1. I would be just be really surprised if he is playing around all summer knowing that the competition is that close and knowing all the work that Max is putting in.

I have no insider knowledge and could be very wrong. If that really is the case and Brennan isn't putting in the work, then that is ashame. He is so very talented and has sacrificed so much to get here. I would hate for him to mail it in now.

Based on "It factor" bs I'd take Nuss. I want the best qb to start. That's Myles if he's healthy

The it factor is Max's ability to run. When LBs are defending Max and the OL run blocks, the LBs don't know whether to stay back and defend the pass or crash down to defend the run. If they crash Max will just throw over their heads to the crossing WR over the middle. If they drift back into coverage Max keeps it and runs for 4 to 10 yards. With Brennan, since he is no threat to run the LBs just drift back taking away the middle. And they are not afraid, because they know if Brennan tries to run they can recover and make the tackle for a loss, no gain or very little gain.

Why does everyone think this is all that matters in football? There are clearly teams who have loads of success with quarterbacks who aren’t very mobile, and ones that are very bad with very fast quarterbacks. There’s so much more that goes into being successful at the QB position.

Typically freshman QBs make big jumps from their freshman to sophomore years. If Max makes the typical jump and he was basically tied with Brennan last year you have to think he is well past Brennan now. Brennan is not going to make that kind of jump from last year being a senior.

Myles is too busy boating and hocking chicken fingers.

I agree wholeheartedly. If the Brennan vs Johnson film study thread didn’t change anyone’s mind I don’t know what to tell you.

There’s always folks who think the backup QB is better.

Yeah people have debated this for months, and I’m really not sure why.

It will definitely be Myles to start the season opener. But both QBs will play a lot this year, and Max may very well be the starter by season’s end, if not sooner.

I kind of get it, I like Max a lot too. But logic dictates that Myles will be the starting QB in Game1. Beyond that will depend on in-game performance.

It matters when the talent level is about even. Brennan will do fine when we play teams with less overall talent. His inability to run will not become a factor against less talented teams. He will get killed against the likes of bama. And I'm not saying we can beat bama with Max versus Brennan. Just saying we have a better chance with Max.

Myles went 1-2 as a starter against the 3 worst teams in the league and our offense was 5-27 on third down conversions.

This is so incredibly overblown. Brennan is the clearly much better thrower.

And go where? No guarantees he would learn another teams offense and verbiage for plays in time to start/get significant playing time in a few weeks. No work with another teams wrs...he would be better off to stay and be backup at LSU
