Hallman wasn't being paid $10,000,000 per year to coach the team

So your logic is that it can always be worse? Gotcha.

I think I went to every Hallman game and seriously doubt I spent $100 for the year. Most games people would give you a ticket. I used to walk up to the gate attendant before kickoff and ask if anyone left a ticket.

Guess what the final score of the last game Curley was head coach of in the state of Louisiana at LSU?

18-20 loss to his old school Southern Miss.

Standards were a tad lower back when Hallman was here.

The budget was also substantially lower.

Joe Dean was tight with a dollar.

Neither were Steve Spurrier. Phil Fulmer and Gene Stallings.

I supported Kelly the first few years. Especially after 2022 and 2023. However the truth is there was no consistency after 2023 and if all or most of the things that have been coming out about Kelly's approach to coaching and recruiting are true, then it probably was time for him to go. No I don't think you fire a coach if he doesn't make the playoffs in 2 years. That is just stupid. You won't hire a coach worth a crap with that requirement but I do think you have to show that the program is going in the right direction and playing with some consistency in order to get to the playoffs.

Don't fool yourself: Hallman was dead-coach-walking after the third game of that season, the "Interception Game" at Auburn.

True, Joe Dean didn't pull the trigger until the loss to Southern Miss, which only had 51,000 paid in Tiger Stadium (actual attendance was likely much lower.)

Also, Hallman was offered the chance to finish the last two games and did so. We don't know if Kelly was offered that chance.

But, he was cooked by that Auburn game.

ETA: These days he would have been fired for losing the 1993 Arkansas game where we had a chance to go to a bowl with a home win, but we coughed up a dismal 20-point loss.

LSU didn’t give Hallman a $100 million dollar contract.

We also didn’t have an $18 million dollar roster.

Saban then Orgeron showed what could be done.

Saban set the bar.

According to some, Orgeron proved any village idiot can do it.

Woody showed what happens when you let politics determine who should be Head Coach.

I doubt we have learned much, but we will see.

The only true reason for Kelly getting fired was fitment. It had absolutely nothing to do with winning or how he ran the program.

Well this is certainly a take.

Jesus man, he got boat raced out of Tiger Stadium while the aggies took over the student section.

It’s been reported numerous times that he was essentially on cruise control here.

No, it was sort of a trick question. That's why I stated "in the state of Louisiana." Even though LSU beat Tulane in the Superdome, the score was 49-25.

Because he thought he could just buy talent and delegate.
