Would it be absurd to try Bianco at 2nd?

I had this same thought. I don’t think it’s a crazy idea.

Everybody needs to relax.

Hal is simply getting a fresh new fade and doesn't want to mess it up.

He'll be back at SS come Friday.

At least Paul is finally experimenting with Hal outside the line up. Something he didn’t do the last 2 years.

Two years ago when Josh Smith, the starting shortstop goes down, you plug in the backup shortstop aka Hal Hughes. Smith never recovered that season. I don’t think Mainieri is forcing the square peg in the round hole like y’all think he is.

You don't know that. He might be the DH.

And I loved watching the opposing team yell “easy out” every time he came up

Did this really happen? Damn

ETA: And I got downvoted to hell in the game thread for asking if Hilliard was nicked up.. everyone assumed they were saving him for Tuesday. Well they said on the radio he had forearm soreness. So I feel vindicated

Well in the big game 2 win to clinch the series Hal had 2 RBI so he want completely useless this weekend. I am sure he will still play some CPM is tinkering to find the right fits like he does this time every year.

Gonna be interesting to see how Hampton plays...his batting numbers were real bad in spring

Yea but remember he hasn’t had the amount of practice the other guys have. He needs the at bats.

I’m not understating this when I say he has the potential to be one of the best all around outfielders in LSU history. I still can’t believe he didn’t sign.

Hampton may have been/is over matched by pitching so far, but I have to think a nice helping of midweek SWAC pitching may be just what he needs. It'll still take a lot of ABs and work in the cage to get up to SEC caliber, but this is a great opportunity for him to get some confidence against Southern and Nichols.

Hal's batting numbers have been real bad for a career!
