Is the HC one of Woodward hires?
Well if there's a sport that Woodward isn't good with, gymnastics might be it.

Strange…Jay Clark carried Old Hag Breaux’s water.

Breaux wormed here at into remaining in the athletic Dept, I think she is a trouble maker.

Woodward should show this Ole Hag the door…Clark is 5 times the coach she is, get her out of LSU athletics….

Listen I get you don't like DD but this is a bit extreme and misleading.

There are things DD is way better at than Jay and there are things Jay does better than DD (recruiting specifically). I am not sure I am seeing 5 times the coach she is. I don't know how you could say that with Jay's HC track record.

I am not saying fire Jay or anything but you do have people who are great assistants and not good HC's. Much different beast managing a program instead of focusing on specifics as an assistant. Either Jay will fix it or the pressure will rise.

I can't defend getting bounced this early. We weren't even at nationals or even in the regional finals.

NIL may have torpedoed it badly

NIL had absolutely nothing to do with the way they performed in the last two rotations. They just failed to perform up to what we know they can do. It falls on the coaches. Nobody else. They failed to have them mentally ready

NIL is not to blame, per se, but I do think this team (not all, but some) put too much emphasis on SM (and NIL), when their focus should have been on gymnastics.

that would be relevant if they took the basket away and just judged the shot to determine how many points each shot would be

This one had nothing to do with judging. They were just bad and didn't deserve to advance.

Did not watch the event but thought we did decent except two falls on beam?
By two of our very solid members… idk that appears unusual from what I remember from the season.. I am a novice but my seats are by the beam and remember many times this year remarking how incredible they appeared on that event this year… it boggles my mind to see they amount of movement they do on that thing! I chalk it up to “life” happens ….

See y’all there next year.

They're on tiktok, they played music a day before the competition once, NIL. Our fans will grasp for all the straws when melting.

Other teams were doing similar. They might not have the followers Dunne has, but there are gymnasts on every team very active on social media. Dunne, who everybody likes to talk about with tik tok, had a good year overall and had a career high on floor yesterday. So was tik tok and NIL holding her back? Suni Lee was getting NIL like crazy and was able to get plenty of girls on their team NIL deals too.

The team was the 6th ranked team in the nation. It was a good team that was inconsistent that didn't have the talent to win a national championship and had super seniors almost holding the team back. Next year and the year after have all along been the better odds to winning it imo. Freshman that were having to carry the weight of seniors, instead of the other way around, won't have to do that anymore and have more experience under their belt.

But other than Football and Men’s Track and Field….what athletic team at LSU has gotten over the hump since 2010?

Last time I checked, the highest NIL earner in any collegiate sport is a gymnast at LSU...

Should be nominated for ultimate comeback of the month! Good Form Sir (or Madam)!

"They gymnastics team cares more about their TikTok cred than actually competing and winning. It's just the way it is these days"

May I ask how many of our gymnasts you know personally to come to your brilliant conclusion? I know at least half of them and call BS on your statement!

>hire "top level" assistant coaches from Utah

Except that floor and vault were our two highest scoring rotations yesterday and have been our most consistent events all year so you can’t blame it entirely on them. Courtney and Garrett did their job, yesterday especially. It was the events that Jay and Ashleigh coach that fell apart.

quote:

If you’ve paid attention all year, this isn’t surprising at all. We have the talent but the (head) coaching isn’t there.

Also would like to point out that the last month or so of the season, after the senior night meet, the team was competing while battling norovirus, a stomach bug that causes nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. If you’ve ever had it, you know both how awful and contagious it is. Our two best gymnasts, Kiya and Haleigh, were both battling it yesterday during the meet: one has a fall, the other had a minor mistake. We’ve been expecting them to carry the team the last two years, which they’ve done an excellent job of, while battling injuries as well. Yes the super seniors struggled throughout the season and during the post season but that’s mainly on the head coach for both not mentally preparing them properly for this over the past 4 years so he didn’t have to do that this season, and it’s on him because he didn’t make the right lineup choices and the swaps when needed to give others the experience they needed to compete yesterday and trust that they’d hit.

We had a swimmer win an individual national championship. We can sort of claim that. Womens BB has completed a miraculous 180.
