Thanks for the clarification. I also saw his X account and saw that he's independent from the sports department. But I am curious what the sports department at WAFB is thinking right now.

Do we know how much each player used to get in scholarship money? When baseball was at 11.7, I don’t think anyone knew exactly who got what. What’s different between NIL and athletic scholarships?

Well #1 stop any payments to Tiger Rag. I never click on Guilbeau shite so whatever. Do what you can.

Good point, going even farther, what’s the difference between scholarships giving to non-athletic students and NIL? Honestly, it can probably be argued easier that we have the right to know every single student’s scholarship amount more than NIL payment amounts. Those are more than likely truly public funds. When I went to LSU I had TOPS, should everyone have had the right to know how much I was getting each year from that?

yep because that is really people's tax dollars that are paying for that

Exactly but that doesn’t move the needle like athletics does so no one in their right mind is going to sue for that information, even though that information would probably be easier to obtain in a court of law.

Doesn't matter. it is a school expenditure. Maybe you can argue for giving the students PIN numbers or something like that so they aren't identified BUT the people have every right to see what a public university is spending on its athletes, TAF excluded, of course.
The Legislature just started session. This lawsuit should have probably waited a few weeks. I’ll be shocked if an amendment to the NIL law isn’t introduced to make rev share deals private and not subject to public record.
TOPS scholarships, for example, are largely excluded from public record by law. Household income data is reported but no individual names are attached.

or more likely, to highlight how "little" some of the minor sports athletes are getting
That’s exactly what this is about. Piper Hutchinson specifically is a useless progressive not from Louisiana that has built her career attacking LSU and Louisiana.

I don't have to worry about that because he's blocked me more than once and I proudly wear that badge of honor.

You’d have to know who is getting what to satisfy the public interest…

Any money LSU pays directly to people is state dollars even if it’s from LSU’s revenue.
The school probably doesn’t want to disclose how much Revenue share they’re paying each athlete. but I also imagine that’s only part of what they’re being paid.

Supposedly athletics is no longer connected to the university, but if that’s the case, should it still legally be allowed to be called “college” athletics?

It is not public funds. Our local media guys are scared to tell the truth. AYS is the only one with the balls to interview the bitch.

Has anyone ever confronted Guilbeau with his bullshite?
Posted on 3/13/26 at 11:09 am to botr05
This had nothing to do with NIL, the OP was wrong.
The article literally says it only focuses on public money.

The lawsuit is not seeking LSU’s records related to the NIL deals college athletes enter into with private companies, which are exempt from disclosure under the state’s public records law. The journalists only want access to records related to how public money is spent.

even then it would still be state owned.

That triple chinned having white liberal female just gave a interview on AYS on YouTube. It is so obvious what she is doing.

There are private industry academic scholarships that are offered, though, that come from companies or trade organizations themselves. I got a couple my last few semesters, separate from TOPS and my books athletic scholarship. They usually pale in comparison to what these NIL $$ are, but very helpful nonetheless.

And the state’s oil & gas and petrochemical industry that provides tens of thousands of good paying jobs for Louisiana residents, and donates exponentially more dollars and goods to Louisiana public schools and universities than her bucket brigade friends.
