How is it possible in college basketball that your two starting guards combine for zero assists?

Thomas is literally a black hole. If he catches the ball the shot is going up. He’s like a video game controller that is missing a pass button.

Smart clearly hell bent to out duel him also can’t find an assist tonight?

What the hell is wrong with this team? How can do many selfish individuals be assembled and called a “team”?

Direct reflection of their head coach. Most pathetic team in a decade. At least the old teams had heart and effort. Hell we had more passion from a roster whose contributing post player played tuba the previous year.

If this teams reads the rant, they need to hear the truth. You guys are selfish and pathetic

Yep, no team concepts offensively. Thomas and watford and smart ball hog. They have really stunted the development of cook and gaines. At this point id rather try to get those guys involved and take our lumps. Was nice to see them playing at the end

I was fixing to say don't forget Watford. All he's doing is trying to impress NBA scouts.

I've seen a lot of players take selfish wild shots at the major college level.

What I'm having trouble recalling is a coach not sitting them on the bench.

And it just snowballs to where Watford and Smart watch what Thomas can get away with jacking up and take their turns.

During the run Alabama made to pull away after half, all three of those guys combined for about 8 or 10 of the most selfish wild shots I've seen in an actual game in a long time.

Even worse, it came when Alabama had Jones out with 4 fouls and were playing a lineup where 3 of the 5 players were from #7-11 on their normal depth chart.

Be careful. Don't think you can say that these days.

To be clear... I mean this by the scientific definition.

What’s crazy is Wade’s take on this. When asked about Cams shot selection in particular and if he had talked to him about it Wade responded by saying.. “we want him to keep letting it fly”

What in the world is he doing?

You have to make shots to get assists. We missed so many easy shots last night. Smart had an off night and missed 3 or 4 almost layups. Leblanc missed 3 or 4 point blank shots. Watford missed a ton of shots that he usually makes over 50% of.
I believe this team is pressing and when things don't go their way offensively, we don't have the defense to help us out.

He came back to school so he knows he has plenty to work on.

Honestly, he seems like a great team guy who may be trying to do too much right now.

There’s no chance Watford gets drafted after this season. Maybe down the road but he is not an NBA player right now.

He’ll get you 24 points on 24 shots.

The sad thing is that I thought they came out and looked more focused on defense to start...except Watford. Certainly he is not fully to blame for last night's loss (or even the Tech loss), but while 4 of his teammates were playing with energy on the defensive end, he was just standing around ball watching...or jogging back on defense...even in transition. Other than when he would get the ball at the elbow and decide come hell or high water he was taking it to the rim, he was completely checked out.

He could be (and has been) a great rebounder, but he played with zero energy in that aspect last night. He could be (and has a times) a good assist guy from the post. But he flat out doesn't want to be because he knows if he passes it out he not going to get a shot.

And for the first time in his career Wade seems submissive to the players. Almost as if he is unwilling to chastise them because he owes them a debt of gratitude for coming back (Smart, Watford) or coming at all (Thomas). This season is reminding me so much like the 2015-2016 season with Simmons. A highly regarded recruiting class coupled with some key veterans that on paper should be really good. But in action is just a compilation of many (not all) guys with their own self interest coupled with a HC who is unwilling to enforce some discipline (on the court) out of fear of losing the guys who "graced him" with their presence for one more year.

Over the course of 3 years LSU has had some up and down results. They've rarely played defense with any consistency...if at all. But they NEVER looked like they didn't give a shite or at least show great fight...even in games they were down big and eventually lost. In years two and three LSU was not an easy out. Even times when they went down big they almost always had a flurry in them to make it a game late. This season if you can hit this team with a big run that's it. They mail it in

It's on Wade. Everyone outside of the big 3 get 0 to 3 shots a game no matter how many minutes. Wilkinson is shooting near 80% on the year but only 2.2 shots in 21.2 minutes.

It looks extra bad with Days out of the lineup.
