Grimes being hammered for OLine play, why isn't Brick Haley eating it for DLine?

Grimes sucks, but Cam has no part in OLine struggles.

However

Chavis sucks, not Haley for 3 straight years of shite DLine play?

D line is young. O line experienced. Tends to mean coaching. You didn't realize this?

Grimes came into a situation with a ton of experienced talent on the o-line. I think our Dline lacks talent this year...big concern

Agreed, I think it was the expectations everyone had for the two lines.

I think once we transition to more of a spread attack, our entire offense will improve, especially the OL.

Wait until after the Auburn game to judge the O-line. With Harris in there at QB I would expect the o-line to look much better. Our experienced o-line players didn't suddenly become crappy players nor did our proven o-line coach suddenly become a terrible o-line coach.

Bingo. 4 of 5 returning starters on the O Line. Was suppose to be the best O Line in the SEC if not country.

Well hasn't Haley been here a while? Who's recruiting the DL?

PS - I'm not trying to bash Haley specifically, just wondering why his name isn't mentioned in the DL shite show.

Because Haley didn't have 4 returning starters. He's underperforming but Grimes has turned out to be a terrible hire.

Different situations are different. Brick also killcrushes recruiting. His line coaching is likely not in the top 3 things he is on the staff for.

Also, I think Grimes deserves some criticism (not proclamations that he is a failure, though), but I bet late in the season when the o-line gets used to this scheme we are going to gash people with that zone scheme. That is a perfect fit for Magee and Buga.

I agree even if it's lack of talent it's still his issue. He's supposed to recurit/develop. There has either been a failure in one or the other. We have have below average D-line play for two years now and 2012 was super talented but under achieved. Unfortunately for Brick, finishing 2nd on some guys has caught up to him.

that's two guys out of 6 man rotation that actually plays. 2 of which are true freshmen and 2 are true sophomores

Well, Haley has a track record of developing a ton of NFL lineman at LSU...so there is that. It's probably not so much on coaching as it is on young development. Everyone at DT is no older than a second year player for us that's actually getting PT with the small exception to QT.

I'm pretty sure Haley will be gone this year regardless anyway. I believe he's been trying to get out of LSU. Grimes? I have no idea. Maybe it's just a new coach, system and chemistry that follows with that. Collins is kicking himself in the face right now for coming back at LSU.

Because re returned 4/5 OLinemen and they are playing like assholes

We lost 2-3 starters on DL (if you include Allen)
