You are also acting like people arpund Kelly said don't send the kid up in the lift and he ignored them. Kelly has said that he was told it was fine and he didn't think too much about it. The mistake was not being more involved in that decision, not ignoring people telling him of the dangers.

Right. I'm not sure exactly how long brain cancer takes to develop (although I'm sure LSU lawyers will be finding a doctor who can give his expert opinion on that) but I'm willing to bet a few weeks isn't the difference between paralysis and "oh never mind everything is fine"

A lawyers job is to find any angle for compensation
Sue everyone until someone is left standing
LSU is the easy target because even if LSU agrees to any settlement it’s better then nothing
LSU gets sued all the time and Jill craft is the ringleader because she knows lsu is better off settling no matter if the case has no merit or not
In essence all they are doing is suing the state of La which is like suing the taxpayers that fund state govt

that’s true we’re probably talking maybe a month delay… gonna be hard to say that’s a huge difference.

A month delay for brain malignancy, after vertigo began is very, very significant. Either way, if they were encouraging him to practice, for a multitude of reason, will result in some liability.

If he had to miss more than a practice, you'd have to assume a team doc was involved at that point. Terrible situation altogether, but this is more of an issue of how our medical system works. They only tend to fully diagnose things when it's escalated past a treatable point because insurance busts their balls.

Do you people really think the head football coach talks to the student video guys? The only call Kelly made was to practice outside that day. Whoever was the head of the video department made that call. Have some common sense guys.

A family member of mine has suffered from vertigo for years. I think it was a few months before she was referred to a neurologist. Every circumstance is different. Maybe his vertigo was much more severe and should have set off more alarm bells for the athletic trainers. But 39 days before seeing a specialist is pretty common in America.

It's just a horrible situation, there are no winners and nobody's at fault.

Kid was an elite physical specimen, was probably going to be All SEC based on his play the year before and projected development. He was used to pushing himself hard to get better at what he does.
Nobody does MRI's on guys like this day one, when they get dizzy trying to practice in the middle of summer. They think he got dehydrated in 100 degree weather, maybe got middle or inner ear issues from a sinus infection or allergy (or just got his otoliths knocked around on contact) if it doesn't get better.
He ended up having surgery within a month or so. There wasn't any delay in care, it's just that you don't look or expect a brain tumor right off the bat. There was literally no reason to suspect that- how many other D1 football players need emergency brain surgery before they're 21?

Laughable that you think everyone with vertigo gets an inmediate MRI

Do you know how common vertigo is?

I can guarantee you the tumor didn’t form in the ~ 40 days between Brooks’ first complaints and his diagnosis.

I never said that's when it formed. It could have gotten worse in that time period though. I literally quoted this.
quote:

The symptoms can develop gradually over some months or even years if the tumour is slow growing. Or quickly over days or weeks if the tumour is fast growing.

And with his rapid onset of symptoms, it sounds like it was possibly fast growing.

I can also guarantee you that no trainer, team doctor or even GP is equipped to diagnose a brain tumor

I never said that the trainers or team doctors should have diagnosed him with a brain tumor?

Bro you are just doing the typical everything is 20/20 with hindsight.

That isn't how medicine works.

You don't get an immediate MRI for every vertigo

But I am pretty sure you are a lawyer so not surprised

Again, apply just a smidgeon of common sense to the situation. The kid presented symptoms that could be attributed to dozens of things, but was diagnosed with a brain tumor within 40 days.

That’s a remarkable turnaround for anyone who isn’t on their deathbed.

Don’t be so fricking dumb.

I’m fairly critical of BK but not sure how this is any way on him.

He is not a doctor or any sort of medical provider. If the appropriate people say someone can play, it’s not unreasonable for the coach to expect and encourage him to play.

Again, I think there is a lot of info that still needs to be known. Him complaining about a headache or dizziness once a week is very different from him having problems daily and having to sit out/leave practice.

In LSBoosie's world we're going to start sending every football player who's out of breath for an angiogram just in case they've got a blockage in the Widowmaker at 19. Anything less is malpractice!

i want your dumb fricking arse to explain in detail how the hell BK telling a player...if you are too sick to practice, you are too sick to play and will lose your starting job is some how a "bad look for bk"

you sound like a dumbass who has never played sports

i mean i feel bad for GB but frick him. literally 4 weeks from time he started having symptoms to time it was found. you do realize that is faster than 99.99% of cases right?
