One thing that Saban does and I'm sure other schools do is that he has a seminar in the off season about this kind of stuff and these guys go over all of this with all of the players and discuss the pros and cons of early entry, etc.

Oh I'm very aware, and it's no wonder they have so many elite players play all 4 years.

Regardless what you may think of O, that was not a high character move by Greedy to not inform him first.

No it wasn't and it's the kind of thing that NFL teams really frown on. It won't hurt his stock of course because the talent is there but nevertheless he might get hammered over it!

Does one think he would of declared for the NFL draft early if LSU would of been in the CFB?

I would Say it’s h likely Greedy was recruited as a 3 and done

But he actually is.

So idk what to tell ya.

Maybe he doesn’t like O? He was a miles and Raymond recruit. Idk.

Also this seems like something Derek should be on top of

Easy to understand, plenty of players were still very loyal to Les. Good Luck to Him!

I got the impression this whole season that Greedy was about Greedy and wanting to get to the NFL ASAP

no, not this, domestic violence, sexual assault they have to pay attention to, now, but I'll bet you the decision makers of any team that has a shot to get him are hive-fiving at the news

I'll bet Greedy signed with an agent thinking we were going to the Portland, Maine Tree Bowl.

What? With near certainty he would still be going to the NFL after this year, even if the Tigers had made the playoff.

My post didn't really convey the point I was trying to make.

What I am trying to say is it was likely a very different perspective from Greedy. He was recruited and knew he was going to go pro after 3 if everything went well. He should have told O, but I am assuming that in Greedy's mind this was pretty obvious, and thus not a big deal. Greedy is NFL ready, but a lot of the guys that have left as JRs the past couple of years have not been. I hope we can do something about that.

I don't know which is worse: Greedy declaring he was skipping the bowl game during the coaches teleconference for said bowl game, or you posting a blind link to a Guilbeau column.

Well O should have known that this would happen
I am sure O was not surprised at all

If you go back and listen to the audio, it sounded as though Coach O knew, but he didn't think it was going to be posted quite yet. Sounded like he knew Greedy was going pro and probably wasn't gonna play in the bowl game, but thought he would talk to him again before he posted it (probably with the hopes of convincing him to play).

This is my feeling as well. I think the narrative that O was blindsided is inaccurate and overly dramatic.

GM's and scouts are going to have fun with this topic at the combine when it comes to Greedy's interview(s). Most of them won't really give a shite either way that he skipped the bowl, but if they think the topic could possibly throw him off in an interview they will use it to see what his reaction will be.
yep. However, they will do exactly what you said to see, test the waters so to speak, if they can get a better deal and hurt his draft position.

Anything negative in that feedback and there's the possibility it will be 'leaked' and see if they can knock him down a couple of spots, or rounds, to see if they can steal him from another team or just get the dollars down.

This is where the real 'business decisions' start. And the NFL GMs and coaches play for keeps.

That's poor advisement on his agents part then. A wasted month for a pointless contest
