I don't agree healthy players sitting out regardless, but the way Greedy went about it is absolute shite. Not only did he announce it on the day we found out LSU would be playing in their biggest bowl since 2011 and kind of overshadow that announcement, but his HC had to find out from some reporter who saw his tweet? I'm very disappointed in Greedy.

They spoke and he and his family indicated that he wasn't going to play in the bowl but it wasn't set in stone. Still would have been nice for Greedy to talk with O before he officially announced it but coach wasn't blindsided by this. The ops building knew he was done.

Regardless what you may think of O, that was not a high character move by Greedy to not inform him first.

Wow, I was wondering how that happened after Orgeron said he was going to be meeting with all the draft eligible players to discuss their futures and Greedy's announcement on twitter came just a couple hours later. Makes sense now. That's pretty low, regardless of which side of the fence you're on as to whether or not he should play. Not to even give your coach the common courtesy of discussing a decision like this is pretty low and immature.

I got the impression this whole season that Greedy was about Greedy and wanting to get to the NFL ASAP. As opposed to Devin White.

Best of luck to him.

Are you surprised?

All of the current seniors were recruited with the pitch that LSU gets you in and out in 3. That's why all of our JRs leave even when they aren't ready. Greedy was a Miles guy and that's how Miles recruited. Hopefully O's players can understand that maybe they need some extra development.

That being said, Greedy is ready for the NFL. So is Delpit, honestly, but he has to stay another year.

College football is an NFL developmental league this day and age. I’m not surprised at all.

I really hope this culture changes and I 100% believe it is a culture that was born with our own coaches. They seemingly have encouraged players to leave rather than encouraged them to stay. When your recruiting pitch is "give us three years and you'll play in the NFL" it's no wonder so many guys who shouldn't be leaving early do, in fact, leave early.

At the end of the day, our coaches work for LSU and this football program. I want a coach that tries to make LSU the best it can be, not make LSU as merely a stepping stone for the NFL at the detriment of the program. We seem to always been in a rebuild mode because of our underclassmen attrition and have been since 2011.

GM's and scouts are going to have fun with this topic at the combine when it comes to Greedy's interview(s). Most of them won't really give a shite either way that he skipped the bowl, but if they think the topic could possibly throw him off in an interview they will use it to see what his reaction will be.

3 and done recruiting pitch works well if you’re pulling in top 5 classes every single year with multiple 5 stars and have the next men to step in.

I think he met with Orgeron to discuss and Orgeron thought they were going to have second final meeting. I guess Greedy didn't feel the need for the second meeting. That doesn't make him a POS, though. It could have been a case of Orgeron hearing what he wanted to hear and not listen to what Greedy was telling him.

One thing that Saban does and I'm sure other schools do is that he has a seminar in the off season about this kind of stuff and these guys go over all of this with all of the players and discuss the pros and cons of early entry, etc.
