McMahon was just a healthy roster away from a final four team. He needs more time. He just figured out the portal last year.

I like Wade, but I would at least like to consider some alternatives, such as top assistants at excellent basketball schools like Duke, Florida, Kansas, etc.

Surely there is a top assistant out there looking to start their own program that wouldn't bring the negative attention/connotation, or the need to pay out Wade's buyout.

Wade is not a good coach (as evidenced by some of the posts in this thread). He and his fans are full of big talk. It is too bad there is no "big coaching" or "big play." LSU would be foolish to hire him just to appease his delusional groupies among the LSU fan base.

We'll see how much the boosters love him when they're asked to foot the bill for the buyouts of the current staff. I hope he comes back, but I don't know how much more the boosters want to spend this year.

Why does stating a fact make some of you butt hurt vaginas? What is hypocritical about UNC not having their 2 top scorers for the NCST game. What is hypocritical about pointing out that NCST lost to both ND and Ga Tech, 2 of the worst teams in the ACC. What is hypocritical about pointing out that NCST has been blown out by every ranked team they have played except for UNC which was without 35 ppg. Wade is not having a good year this year. That is a fact. They have been very inconsistent. And with a $10-$12 mil budget and a pre season POY. Yes he will still go to the tournament. Has nothing to do with Mcmahon. Has nothing to do with whether Wade is a good coach. Just stating facts. I would still take him as a coach but that doesn't change the fact that he is struggling with consistency this year.

I’m just worried Reed goes to the draft. He’ll probably be a top 3 pick according to the all knowing mcmen so he’ll likely be leaving and without him no coach could win.

And if Thomas leaves for the draft too, we’ll really be in trouble. Like winning only 24% of our conference games bad

Reed is a very good FW that is a matchup problem. Because he can hit the 3 bigs have to go out to guard him which opens up the lane for others and also gives him the opportunity to dribble past them as they close out. Also a good defender and post player and can help with the press..Unfortunately due to injuries we haven't had the opportunity to see what his ceiling could be. I understand why you can't comprehend all of that as it's probably too complex for you. You should probably stick to Mcmahon bad posts as it is probably easier for you to comprehend.

Yet will comfortably be in the tournament.

Meanwhile our esteemed leader is about to go 0-4 in that regard. Fun times.

Hes had some really bad blow out losts this year by 30 points or more

He has. They have been a roller coaster. They have had some great Ws, blew out NC and went on the longest conference winning streak they have had in like 50+ years or something, but if they lose to Stanford in their next game, they may put themselves on the wrong side of the bubble.

In 7 games last season he attempted a grand total of FOUR 3 pointers (made two). The year before he attempted 33 three pointers...in 33 games. Literally, he was averaging 1 three point attempt per game. In his freshman year he attempted 14 three pointers...all season. For his career his average made 3 pointers per game was 0.3.

Was it possible he could make a 3 pointer? Sure. But in no way, shape, or form was he ever utilized as a 3 point threat LSU and defenses weren't going to change their approach to take away the 1 three pointer he might shoot a game.

Also a good defender

He was an average defender against below-the-rim bigs. He struggled guarding athletic bigs who could operate in space.

can help with the press

LSU would have to press first to require help. McMahon has never utilized the press

That is true. But that doesn't mean you ignore actual data/numbers to grossly inflate what that ceiling might be just to support a preferred narrative (er, excuse). Reed didn't even start half the SEC games in 2024. He averaged 7.4 ppg in SEC play. He only had 4 games...out of 19 SEC games (including SECT) where he scored in double-figures. He was also turnover prone...generally the worst among all forwards.

Yet, somehow, as a result of injury he goes from role player/average SEC starter to the lynchpin for McMahon's success and his absence being a huge reason LSU has been at the bottom of the league for 2 straight seasons....even though there was ZERO objective data suggesting that would be the case

Thomas is gone he made that decision when he faked the injury after the southern Mississippi game and played in what 3 SEC. games the surgery that he had was probably to clean up some scar tissue or remove some bone spurs. Thomas is ( Gone Johnson) as soon as LSU loses in the SEC. Tournament. He will be gone the next day in the transfer portal!

You’re right, I can’t comprehend your delusions since you description of what he did on the floor never happened.

He acts as if Reed was never healthy. The guy played in 79 games, almost all of them while healthy. We saw exactly what he was, he only became a star to the mcmen when he was hurt and we all know why.

Has the SEC tourney field been set yet? Or still possible for movement for teams until this last game is played?

that's a bit disingenuous, don't you think?

Read played 32 of those games in the year LSU was 9-9 in the SEC. He has played in 0 SEC games the last two seasons.

Are you saying that Reed is not a very good player? I guess I'm a McMan again

NC State is performing as expected for the season. Approximately around preseason projections. Year 1 in a power conference usually comes with depth challenges. Such is the case for NC state. Next year will be where he earns his merit as a major program head coach in the transfer portal/NIL era. Unless he were to actually leave. Which still, to me, seems unlikely. But stranger things have happened.

He’s played in 50 P5 games, and going from “he’s our best player” to alleging me calling him “no good” is the definition of disingenuous so cut the shite.
