I would have liked to have seen Shepard get more time this season...but he also switched positions half way through the year. Peterson was clearly better, but did he know the defense? I thought he was eased into the starting role as he learned more of the defense. Even if he wasn't starting, he played quite a bit the first half of his freshman season.

This argument is getting old though.

Playing Vincent and Broussard over Scott and Williams
This amazes me and I believe I see a trend......

Rantards logic
Scott and Williams are better than Vincent and Broussard and should be getting their carries.....

When Scott and Williams are upper classmen Ridley and Murphy are better and should be getting their carries.....

Do you see the trend???

Forecasting rant post starting next fall.....
Ware and Ford are better than Ridley and Murphy and should be getting their carries.....

You are all correct, Miles is the greatest coach ever at evaluating and using talent. I'm sorry I doubted him. I apologize to you all and Miles.

R. Murphy,

Im really getting tired of this guy's yearly pre-season hype. Ill believe RM can be an effective back throughout a season when i see it.

I think Ware can contribute but if Ford and Ridley can pull the load along with quicker backs like Calhoun and Gore, Ware might have to wait til 2011.

I really think Ridley will fall down the depth chart this year. He was just really unimpressive last season. I thought he was going to be pretty solid, but the dude is a big back and goes down on first contact almost every time, that just doesn't work.

Ideally I think the depth chart should be...

1. Ford
2. Murphy
3. Ware
4. Calhoun

Next season...as far as power + change of pace backs go

None.

And we'll barely see Ford.

we'll have two guys that wont redshirt at RB....hilliard and Hill

i think ware plays this year. murphy will not get many touches running the ball. Ridley will need a rest as well as ford. the power back needed at that time is ware. i also think gore play on special teams.

The Ford and Ridley show. Although we might pass the ball more than people expect.

Ware better be legit to play, cause next year, we'll have two guys that wont redshirt at RB....hilliard and Hill

Ware is legit and is probalby going to play on ST next fall, getting some opportunities to carry the ball in blowouts, similar to KW and CS as freshmen. Gore will rs IMO.

It's the fact that Miles doesn't give a freshmen a real opportunity to make a big impact. When was the last time a true freshmen had a great game? Actually, when was the last time any offensive player had a great game?

I do get tired of seeing a guy run for 12 yards and then never seeing that guy or that play again till 3 games later...

I agree with this. Probably closer to 50 carries though.

I am just hoping Ford gets bulk of carries next season.
