Depending on Ridley/Ford's development, Ware might see PT. Right now I don't think the coaches are comfortable with either in the power back role. They might need open competition between all 3 to get the light to switch on for one of them...

But realistically, both will probably redshirt.

Ridley/Murphy will likely share the snaps...then you have RS who will likely be a slot WR/RB. Then Calhoun and Ford. Then 3 more incoming Freshman RBs...I think Calhoun gets moved somewhere else.

I really think Ridley will fall down the depth chart this year. He was just really unimpressive last season. I thought he was going to be pretty solid, but the dude is a big back and goes down on first contact almost every time, that just doesn't work.

Not saying it was you thunder, but rantards were saying the exact opposite of this last year. They all claimed Scott had no "wiggle" and Ridley had the power and agility to be a special back.

Not saying young guys shouldn't play but time in the program shows the team that if you work hard in the program you earn playing time. If your talent level just really separates you from the field like a P.Peterson, then you need to be on the field. IMO. RS and the rest of the stable of playmakers are close enough in skill set that the only way they are seperated is through competitive experience. RS almost reaches that but you have to be prepared when opportunity calls. JJ sort of inherited his role. Talent for talent probably not any better than JL. He has the competitive experience over the rest.

Tore his ACL in spring practice-it's a miracle and a ton of hard work that the kid even played last Fall.

you guys with the Randle - Shep argument. Randle was behind Toliver and LaFell. He still scored just as many TDs as Toliver.

Shepard was really just too small and we got a delay of game/needed a Timeout for 40% of his snaps.

Why didn't we play him at receiver more? He fumbled it the first time he caught a pass.

and Ridley falls at first contact? maybe in the Mud bowl. He bounced off Mt. Cody and then stiff armed a bama LB before he scored a TD on them.

I do think Ware will get some carries. He is physically ready to play in the SEC, unlike most freshmen.

Gore and Ware
How much do you think they play this year?

Gore
absolutely none at all

Ware
Maybe a little on ST or a few carries here and there against a lesser opponent but no meaningful time in big games or when we are not wayyy ahead. Les has shown you guys this time after time, why do we keep asking the same questions over and over?

It's a fact that 4 to 5 classes of guys were freshmen before the guy you're talking about.

I don't see Gore playing yet. Depending on Ware's performance this spring I can see him getting a few downs.

Ridley and Murphy will get the majority of the carries with Ford coming in occasionally. Ware should redshirt just because the coaches will probably waste a year on some carries at the end of the Mcneese game. Gore should redshirt as well. Calhoun takes the Trindon role over.

I actually think Murphy could have had a good year this past season (relative to the other RBs and how bad our o-line was). He ran hard early in the year before getting hurt, and he can be split out as a WR sometimes. When talking about how we are going to replace Lafell and who our 3rd WR should be, ppl shouldn't forget Murphy, who is a good receiver as well.

I think Murphy is the key. If he stays healthy he will have a nice year and the frosh will play little if any. I've always thought he was the more versatile back between KW,CS and JH. He just cant stay on the field.

I am just hoping Ford steps up and is able to get get a bulk of the carries next season.

If you like Ford, this is the correct wording.

And how do YOU determine who the better player is? Most of you fricking idiots go by rivals star ranking to base your opinion and think you know more than the coaches who work with these players every day. You are clueless.

I've said it too, but everyone in here knows how practice is, how the kids are handling the play book, are they putting in the effort, are they having grade issues, are they nicked up, and are they ready yet.
