Just finished watching this morning. This gave me more concern on the OL play than I already had, but also confirmed what I and many felt during the Tech game which was that the play calling and personnel (4 TEs bunched in tight on multiple occasions inside the 10) did the OL zero favors. Tech was keyed in on the run a lot, and a still-gelling OL without its best player was probably asked to do too much.
Another thing that stands out to me is that Weston Davis had a lot of good reps in the running game. Obviously he needs work technically, but I see the athleticism with him.

Can I get some cliffs?
I find Carter to be pretty annoying and I can't ever get through his videos. He does a good job breaking things down but his incessant need to yell random catch phrases and weirdly laugh is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

This is the generated summary by YouTube. Note the player’s names are misspelled due to the transcription, not me.
The video provides an in-depth analysis of the LSU football team's performance against Louisiana Tech, focusing on the struggles of the run game and strengths of the defense.
Run Game Analysis:
• The video highlights issues with the LSU run game, particularly in the absence of Brilen Moore and with a new center (0:00).
• Plays like Kadan Durham's run (0:14) are analyzed, showcasing both good assignments (0:36, 0:40) and problematic blocking from players like Josh Thompson (0:47) and Tyrie (2:05).
• A major point of concern is the predictability of LSU's offense (18:24), especially when Zavon Thomas motions into the backfield (19:21) or when using the pistol formation, which was highly inefficient last year (19:34).
• Offensive linemen Paul Mabinga and DJ Chester are heavily criticized (21:28) for their performance, with specific examples of miscommunication and ineffective blocking (25:16).
• The video suggests that "cramming everybody in" tight formations (13:40, 30:56) consistently leads to poor results in the run game.
Defensive Performance:
• LSU's defense is praised for some key plays, including stopping a dropped pass from Louisiana Tech's quarterback (2:54).
• Bernard Gooden (4:16) and Patrick Payton (16:39) are highlighted for their strong pass-rushing abilities and impact on the defense.
• An explosive run by Xavon Thomas (6:04) is broken down, attributing its success to the defensive look from Louisiana Tech and improved blocking from LSU's wide receivers (8:06).
• The video also showcases a successful reverse play (29:06), noting it as a "sexy design" stolen from another team that exploited Louisiana Tech's defensive tendencies.

Never have understood why you have so many bodies in such a small place on the field. It makes zero sense.

Going tight in the redzone drive me nuts, and LSU does it constantly. They have 9 fricking guys packed in on the LOS, with 2 TEs tight on each side. That’s ridiculous.
Also, he just reaffirmed something I’ve thought and that is LSU is actually terrible out of the pistol. I wanted them to run it more early last year, but when they did I remember thinking it wasn’t working. One of the main reasons is because they like to motion Thomas and Anderson into the backfield in those formations, and when they do they’re getting the ball 99% of the time. Thats entirely too predictable.
He touched on both of those points.

watching 3rd party film study isn't worth much. Concepts and assignments could be misleading.

Yes, when the line cant move anyone there’s no place for the RB to go

This is going to be very unpopular opinion but Frank Wilson is not a very good running back coach. He coaches the instinct out of players by forcing them to follow the play instead of looking for an open hole. The longer a back stays in the system the less effective they become.

I keep hearing this but nobody wants to be specific on what is wrong with the scheme. The only specific thing I hear is about the extra TEs inside the 10 and somewhat agree but that's personel not scheme. What specifically is the issue with the scheme and what alternatives do you suggest?

I do think he has legit knowledge in some areas - what's his background?

Well, when you can't block 3 with 5 because they drop 8 into coverage, there's not a lot you can do in regards to scheming.
