Shaq was insanely dominant,
not close to as dominant as Pistol was. It isn’t close between the 2 to be honest. I love Shaq and everything he did and continues to do for LSU. He is truly a Great Ambassador.

2.09 ERA and 0.880 WHIP

That’s just fricking stupid
it was during dead ball and bat era also. That’s why it’s hard to judge this.
Those 2 from Vandy really are insane abs LSU will feel that this weekend.

Burrow? Lol. Are you kidding?

While Pistol was incredible, Lew literally change the game. Dunking was outlawed due to him.

Baseball? Hard to pick that one. As much as I hate the guy, Barry Bonds

No. But Pistol is, and you could make a case for Burrow.

No case can be made for any LSU player.

Burrow had a much better team around him than Cam Newton had.
Pistol didn’t accomplish what Magic Johnson or Larry Bird did.
Mississippi State had Palmeiro and Will Clark on the same team. They, and 20 others, were as good as Walker.

And that isn’t even getting into what he accomplished as a professional. Likely the best winner of all time. Only guy in the same stratosphere is Tom Brady.

Also if we’re talking full college careers, as much as I hate it, you gotta throw Tim Tebow in the discussion. Also as someone else said, Bo Jackson. I stick by Joe having the best individual season though.

Leads to another talking point: who is the GOAT in all 3 major college sports (football, basketball, baseball) ?

As much as I'd love to claim GOATS for LSU in the major sports, we have some people in the conversation but...

Football - Hershel arguably should have won 2 and maybe 3 Heismans. Burrow and Barry Sanders may have GOAT seasons, but for a career they just didn't compare to Hershel.

Basketball - Lew Alcindor (Kareem) was a 3 time POY and won 3 national titles. Freshmen could not play varsity. You could argue Pistol Pete is in the top 3, but the GOAT is Kareem and this one is not close.

Baseball - LSU has 3 players in the conversation but you'd have a tough time arguing any would be above Barry Bonds, Dave Winfield or Robin Ventura.

Ok you dumbass skinny Jean wearing hipster While some of the greats dominated for a season or two, Walker crushed it for three. And that's why he's No. 1.

A bulldog among Bulldogs, Walker never rushed for fewer than 1,616 yards in a season, and was a unanimous, first-team, All-America selection from 1980-1982. Along the way he won a Heisman Trophy and a Maxwell Award, but his greatest accomplishment might have been helping lead Georgia to an undefeated 1980 season -- and a national championship.

So you disregard Burrow because of his supporting cast. What kind of supporting cast did Pistol have ?
