I’m 36. Guilbeau has sucked since I was a kid. Read the paper loving everything about lsu since childhood and his takes sucked and have only gotten worse over past several years

As poor a "journalist" as Guilbeau is, it's no surprise he doesn't understand the difference between Media Relations and dealing with annoying hacks.

Mulkey understand the media just fine. And with her track record, she doesn’t need media relations. It’s not a coincidence that coaches like Saban and Belichek treat the media the way they do. One party in those exchanges is at the top of their profession. The other is at the bottom.

Guilbeau graduated from Missouri, where they have one of the top journalism schools in the country.
The problem is, great schools don't automatically churn out great journalists.
My neighbor is a sports writer and he says the Missouri grads in his profession are insufferable. They act entitled and like they invented journalism.
Example: Pat Forde is a Mizzou guy.
Guilbeau has hit his career ceiling by working for that Clay Travis website. No big time newspaper has ever hired him.
It was inevitable that he would try to pick a fight with Mulkey. But Mulkey has been defiant with the media ever since she started winning at Baylor. She didn't like the media prying into Britney Griner's sexuality (they were all writing that she wasn't really a woman). She didn't like that they were writing about the Baylor football team's raping and sexual assaults. "You don't know, but I'm in the know," she said.
She also didn't like it when Baylor administrators started talking about building a new arena off-campus. She used her bully pulpit to make her case, even though she knew that it was getting under people's skins.
Make no mistake. Hiring Kim was one of the great moves in LSU sports history. But know that a lot of folks at Baylor heaved a sigh of relief to be rid of her.
My point is this confrontation between sh*t-stirrer Guilbeau and "I'm in the know" Mulkey was inevitable.
Guilbeau can't win. Mulkey always wins in the end.
You can't convince her otherwise.

PurpleE, we still have relatives living in Waco and they work at Baylor. Their Prez and AD were jealous of Kim coz she was bigger than them, and they couldn't "control" her. Some of their fans were happy to see her go to LSU, but many are still loyal to Kim, still support her. Baylor WBB will not win another Natl Championship, not unless they rehire Kim. They don't have the excitement/support like they did under Kim.
