I was a student from 2010-2014.

Most wins in a combined 4 year span.

It was great excluding the rematch.

This is so obvious it might be better to find a second best 5-year run.

84-88 was pretty good. Two SECs, 3-1-1 vs Bama, 4-1 vs OM, top-5 finish in '87.

1999-2003

Watching the ups and downs and ultimately the rise of LSU football to elite status after the 90s while attending LSU was incredible.

2000-20001 was the most fun I've ever had relative to watching LSU football. From 7/10 losing seasons culminating in the 2-9 1999 season to SEC champs and winning the sugar bowl was euphoric.

In 2002 LSU started to loik like a title contender and then Mauck got hurt. 8-5 felt like 2-9. 2003 was scraping and clawing to climb the mountain. They got better and better as the season went on but it didn't seem like a title was in reach until the SEC Championship game and then everything got real. It was all so unexpected until almost the moment it happened.

The later championship years were different because expectations had begun to creep in. 2019 was probably the greatest single year in LSU football history, but for a 5 year journey, nothing compares to '99-'03.

Dude no way. 15,16,17 are some of the worst years. 18 and 19 can’t make up for that

2003 to 2007 easily. Even the non-NC teams were very good those years. 2006 LSU wins the NC in today’s format

you have to be pretty young to think that.

hell even ‘14 was worse than any of those 3 seasons.

‘08-‘09 were worse than those 3
‘20-‘21were worse.
‘89-‘94
‘98-‘99

Much of my undergraduate days at LSU. That was some great football during that five year period.

One NC, two SEC titles, victories in the Sugar Bowl, the Orange Bowl and the Cotton Bowl. Over that five year period, LSU's final ranking was #1, #3, #4 and #7.

Two of the greatest games ever in TS: 1959 Ole Miss and 1961 Ole Miss.

this would be mine also. From my senior year of high school to my senior year of college. Never in my life would I have imagined LSU would win a National Championship.

I remember watching TV and seeing them announce LSU vs OK for the Championship in the Sugar Bowl. 2007 was fun. 2019 was a perfect season. But, nothing beats 2003 for me.

92-97…my first 5 years at LSU. Went from garbage to beating Florida at home when they were #1.

I’ll go a couple years back and say 01-07. I feel like the 2001 team was the team that started the great run of LSU success over that span under Saban. The 02 season would have been a lot better had Mauck not gotten injured I believe. But other than the Florida game, the 01 season was fun to watch. Loved watching Rohan sling it all over the field and Reed being unstoppable.

2015-- blasted Texas Tech (with Mahomes!) 56-27 in the Advocare Texas Bowl. 9-3 overall

2016-- def. Louisville feat. Lamar Jackson in the Capitol One Bowl (forgot the score) 8-4 overall.

2017-- 9-3 regular season; lost to Notre Dame in the Capitol One Bowl

Those were good teams with lots of talent, and portended a bright future. Thanks, Joe Burrow.

I remember my dad crying after 2003 because he hadn’t seen a NC in his lifetime, and genuinely didn’t know if he would.

My dad died in the summer of 2003. He saw 1958, but he was a 28 year old living in Schenectady NY. (Man, I spelled that right on the first try!)

1958 Ole Miss was really great too-- we beat them 14-0, they were undefeated going in.

Don't forget 1960 (6-6 tie in Oxford)! Ole Miss was #1 going into the game; they finished 10-0-1 with a #2 ranking

It's because of the success of the Tigers from 1958-1962 that us old-time LSU fans have such a longing for our traditional uniform design, esp at home.

I was at both of those games. I was a high school senior attending the 58 game, and road the train from Alex Box Field to Ole Miss for the 1960 game.
