Many of you seem to have it in for J Jeff without even considering the facts. For instance, J Jeff is the third all time winningist quarterback with more than 20 starts IN LSU HISTORY. Think about that. You are bearing witness to one of the best ever.
Whether it be naivity, racism, or just a general lack of football knowledge, it is embarassing that some of you wear the Purple & Gold.
I apologize for writing with a sense of defensiveness, but I am appalled by a few of the comments in this thread. To those of you who write with venom - Have another drink, sirs!
J Jeff will start the 2011 season because the coaching staff knows he is the best quarterback on the football team, and potentially the best quarterback in the nation.
The fact that a few of you knuckleheads (my apologies) think you are a greater judge of talent than the most successful coach in LSU history is.....well.....concurrently frightening and jaw dropping.
Thank the man upstairs that some of us know a diamond when we see one!

Would honestly be sad if he didn't consider the season is 13 game length now including bowl game with potential 14th game if LSU would make the SEC Championship game.

It's a similar over-articulate style
Fair enough but the difference is #1 I don't mean it and #2 I don't know what it means.
I came up with a word called "matriculacrum" which is a plane of existence where you are supposedly going to graduate but instead you stay wiry and oily and Jim Morrison is awesome.

Scouts has him ranked as the 23rd leading Heisman contender going into 2011 and the second best quarterback in the SEC
Good thing they give the Heisman trophy to the top 23 contenders.

matriculacrum... matriculating fulcrum? ... sounds like some kind of tricksy word for social promotion. Take this to the poli board!

the Tigers may be best served by putting 2011 in the ...hands of Mr. Jefferson...Who wins? Tiger fans. That’s who.
This.
I like your take. Sign me up for J.Jeff.
If Jefferson wins the starting QB job, and continues to improve, the 2011 LSU team will be all the better for it.

I haven't read this whole thread, but I'd be surprised this guy isn't being eaten alive. We've seen JJ for three years and to say that we 're basing our opinion on one game is absurd. The fact that you must point to his laziness as an excuse for his very bad performance says alot about his real leadership prowess. He isn't the winning est QB in LSU history, he happened to be a part of a team that wouldn't let him destroy their year.

JRod, agreed.
It is dissapointing to see so many Tiger Fans get become spoiled like bratty Baton Rouge babies. These are the same "fans" that boo Les Miles, the most successful coach in the history of the institution.
Luckily Les Miles does not consult these children before making decisions on who starts at quarterback. Some of these people absolutely amaze me. Absolutely amazing.

Now that JJ has "mastered" the offense, he will understand that you have to call for the ball before the clock runs out when you are behind......

Admittedly, he has not been himself at the end of close games. Supposedly this is a result of Crowton failing to get play calls into the game quickly.
The fisticuffs between Miles and Crowton following the Tennessee game was over this very issue.
I think we can all agree that the new coordinator will make changes that allow J. Jeff to showcase his talents at the end of games. Look no further than the Cotton Bowl.

When JJ had 3-4 weeks to prepare, he performs well, but during the regular season, he is a slow thinker, and throws the ball in the ground...........

Am I the only one who finds this repeated reference to "J Jeff" a little creepy?

Perhaps you are not old enough to remember Jeff Wickersham making a shambles of SEC secondaries.
I am 42 and I don't remember this?
Probably because it never happened.
