Verge got shoved in the corner and told to deal with it. Verge politicked his way into the AD job but the new bosses wouldn't allow him to screw up bringing Wade back.

This was probably planned back in November that the AD position would be decentralized due to the nature of college sports. Verge got us Kiffin and had the humbleness to allow a new structure for Wade to come home

This is a generous take, what’s he gonna do? Tell Landry, Mallett, and Rousse no?

The truth is, he didn’t have a say in this, and that’s okay.

Wade still has a sore spot for the previous treatment which Verge was a part of. Verge has always been the fall guy for the athletic department and made out to be the bad guy.
Wade strictly stated he would only report to Heath.

Each sport has a sport administrator that the coaching staff reports to. At a school the size of LSU that is rarely the AD.

Does Schroyer not report to Verge? This seems like y’all are reading too much into this

You think Schroyer was a condition if it just meant that verge was going to tell Schroyer how he could run the basketball program? Sure on paper maybe Schroyer reports to verge, but if that meant anything it’s unlikely Wade would be here.

Would really like to know what reporting to directly to Schroyer means? Seems like an Odd arrangement.
it means a layer between him and Verge. Basically Verge is able to delegate the oversight to an assistant AD. People saying Verge is a figurehead don’t understand. Verge doing a flex by not being overburdened with direct reports.

That’s a hell of a deal imo. He just wanted to come home.

Quite the spin. He’s flexing by having a portion of his duties taken from him

It was my understanding that technically, all the head coaches report “directly” to an associate AD. All the associate ADs report to Verge.

This is like me getting a job at Tesla and directly reporting to some manager and not directly to Elon. But if Elon wants me to do something, well I’m going to have to do it lol

What’s the point in having Schroyer as a condition if Schroyer is just going to have to do whatever verge says? That doesn’t make sense

Rousse
Verge
Schroyer (who literally used to report to Rousse)
Wade

How do you think that hierarchy is actually going to work? Not how it is on paper, but how it’s actually going to function?

Every sport has an administrator that isn’t the AD. That administrator handles all the day to day of departmental business with the sport’s staff: budgets, travel, facilities, compliance, etc.

Schroyer is now the sport administrator for Men’s Basketball. In the same way Dan Gaston is the sport admin for Baseball.

Well, Verge seems like the kind of leader that lets his lieutenants do their job. He does not seem like a micro manager.

Wade will work 50x more often either Schroyer than he will with whomever the AD is.

Additionally I’m assuming Schroyer will get a raise so Wade trying to do his buddy a solid abd get to closely work with a friend.

You also forgot Landry in your list… they all do his bidding…

Well yeah. I could’ve added Mallett and Landry, which are both on the McNeese side of the equation.

Of course he wont!

I've told yall many times recently, that Verge Ausberry isn't the fricking Athletic Director at LSU.

It's Rousse, Mallet and now Schroyer.

Ausberry will not even be the AD in TITLE within a year or so.

Correct. We are being taken over by a McNeese crew… time will tell if this is the beginning of the end…

Maybe they will call us McNeese State - Baton Rouge lol

Add Schroyer’s salary and benefits to Wade’s and that’s a truer amount.
