Every time anyone around the program this spring talks about the QB room, they always mention how GN is a different type of player. Making crazy throws, they mention his mobility, and how his energy is just different from all the other guys. How much of this is coach speak or is this guy truly that special?

Both O and Stingley Sr said he reminds them of a Johnny Manziel type QB

He is very good. The competition with him and Howard will be magnificent.

He is special. I seriously doubt it happens but if come the first game they come out and say he is the starter I would not be extremely surprised.

LSU stacked at QB, and the best is yet to come with Parker and maybe Arch on the way.

He's the most talented QB on the roster and don't be surprised if he's the starting QB in 2022

I don’t think that will happen. We have Max and Myles who are more than capable of winning games. Whichever starts, they will have a great season. That gives us the luxury of allowing Nussmeier a full year to sit, learn, and adjust. And when his number is called in 22 or 23 (at the very latest), he will be abundantly ready to tear this league apart.

His HS film reminds me a lot of Baker Mayfield. Somewhat "small" guys just running around slinging it (in a a good way).
I'm not saying he should start this year, but of the 4 QB's he's the one that will probably be the best "playmaker". Brennan, Finley, and to a somewhat lesser extent, Johnson are more of your pure pocket QB who aren't going to be able to make a ton great plays outside the pocket. That's not to say you can win and win big with those guys, but it's just a different style of play.

I honestly think that if Brennan wins the job in 2021 then Nuss will win the job in 2022.
Obviously if Max wins the job this year and plays well then it will be much harder to supplant a returning starter.

The kid is very good. But let’s slow down. He’s a freshman. Has a lot to learn still on the mental side of the position. We all know he’s physically gifted. But he has A LOT to learn when it comes to learning the playbook, making the correct reads, dealing with the pressure and noise of big time SEC road games, etc.
It’s Max or Myles’s turn currently. But his will come soon.

He is special. Watch is highlights form high school. If he is building from that base, he's going to be special. Decent arm strength, good release, very good mobility, great accuracy, elite processing speed and top notch leadership qualities.

This is pure poster speak. You don’t know what he doesn’t know.

You may well be correct, but being the son of a coach (and a QB coach at that), I would expect his learning curve to be much shorter than most freshman QBs. Coaches' kids are usually a different breed.
