Should we line up candidates for your wife in case you get hit by a bus?

They'll both have opportunities somewhere. The only question is if they want to hold out for a good P4 job, or in Weis' case if he wants to be an NFL OC and eventually an NFL HC.

Aranda is available if Baker leaves. We could take the OC from Ole Muss. He worked with Lane before, but I think Charlie Weiss might stick around...

For the money LSU pays coordinators the list for those who want those jobs will be long.LK doesn’t have to look to hard to find replacements.

You misspelled Chris Kiffin. Because he is the likely replacement for Baker.

I'm out on Aranda. We forget 2019 set all those offensive records because for the first half of the season our defense couldn't stop anyone. Ole Miss had a baseball player at QB running up and down the field. Vandy ran all over us.

The debate is moot, however. Current co-DC Chris Kiffin will be our next DC.

Exactly. They both seem like they’re waiting for the right job, not just a job.

However it does seem like there will be a lot of openings this upcoming offseason.

Amazing how many folks don't realize this is the likely outcome of Baker leaving.

Both will be gone I agree. Not a popular opinion but it’s true

I have assumed this as well, and it is most likely the answer. But food for thought… what if Chris Kiffins defence sucks, like close to the bottom of the SEC type defence?

Does Lane fire his own brother or does he keep him round cause he can’t bring himself to fire his own brother?

Could get awkward.

Word is Kiffin already has someone in mind for OC when Weiss leaves. I'm willing to bet it is someone like Cox as he apparently has known for awhile including last year when it was at risk he would lose him. Matters little anyway it's always going to be Kiffin's offense and he'll pick the play sheet up just as he has done this year.

Weiss is an interesting case.

The dude is clearly a big piece of the puzzle and isnt just riding Kiffins coattails anymore as he proved by the OM playoff run. With that said his one time he branched out to USF didn’t go so well.

If Im him I take the Kirby Smith/Dan Lanning route.

He can bide his time and find the perfect situation. There’s always the “is it him or kiffin question (just like smith/Lanning with Saban/smith) but you sustain it long enough one big program is going to take a shot

From the looks of things USC, Michigan, Penn State, OU, Clemson, Bama, hell Texas, TAMU, are all in the realm of possibility of coming open in the next 3-5 years. Most of those have had history of hiring high level P5 coordinators rather than the hot shot young HC.

Even if he thinks he can’t wait on THE job this go round he can be looking at a South Carolina, MSU, FSU, North Carolina, Arkansas, Washington esque gig in the next 5 years.

Ensminger was not good before or after 2019. Who was at LSU in 2019, and created the best offense in LSU history ....it was Joe Brady, the present HC of the Buffalo Bills.
Why is it so hard for some to give the credit where it is deserved.
Brady was always the architect of the 2019 offense. Ensminger may have called plays but only after being told what to call and when by Brady.
Ensminger will never. qualify again to be the OC at LSU.

you know absolutely nothing. You can speculate if you want, and play the what-if game, but you should at least acknowledge that your premise is just pure speculation.
