He probably saw the writing on the wall as far as getting PT goes. It is odd that he didn't wait until after the season was over, but he might have just wanted to move onto the next chapter of his life since LSU wasn't in his future plans.

What the hell lol. The guy was redshirting and would be a redshirt Freshman with 4 years to play next year. Why even come in the first place if you were just gonna leave after half a season.

This is possible, but teams usually struggle with getting under the limit and have to process a few to make room for twenty-five new ones. So, it may be more likely that it just means one less player will have to go who doesn't want to. And maybe he was processed.

Dont think we know the full story here, he hasn't played 1 game on D despite the redshirt rule. He had a medical condition coming in so you never know..
