I do think if the award were given out now it's Fournette's.

The next 3 games will be a tough stretch for Fournette and I think Boykin will make up ground and eventually overtake his current lead. It's really, at this point, between those two and Boykin has the easier path; plus it's a QB award of late, so he has that going for him.

Having said that if Fournette averages 150/game against Bama, Ark, and OM (with wins against those teams) then he's still in the lead.

Sounds like that's exactly what you're saying. Big 12 cellar dweller =/= Best SEC East team and a top 10 team in the country. Even without their starting quarterback.

Good thing he is over 190 yards per game then right? And well over 7 YPC.

Go look up the last 3 heisman RBs and find their season low YPC.

I take it executioner isn't a fan of Buga. Good thing is the majority of the press/fans think he is the best and a once in a lifetime back.

The only thing impressive about that game was the bad refs. WVU was in the game until the refs put it out of reach. Bad calls all over the place. Any time TCU stalled out and it was 3rd and long a flag magical appeared.

ah yes, the "bad ref" excuse. This is childish.

It takes years for refs to get to the major college level, and the grading and reviews of their performance is strict.

To think that a ref is making a series of bad calls because of bias is just nonsense. Do refs make horrible calls? Of course they do. But it's not because of bias.

Your reaction is just emotion over logic.

Won't matter...they have at least one, likely two ,losses on the way.

That's stupid to say Boykin isn't good because he sucked against lsu to open the season a year ago

Dude had barely been a QB. Remember he switched from WR

TT Has 3 losses where they gave up 55, 63, and 63.

They are giving up 40 points/game

generic top team(Ohio State, Baylor, etc) would be favored by at least 10 at home against Florida.

6-5 UF played @ FSU last year in the last game of the season. FSU was undefeated and made the playoffs.

The spread was FSU -7, FSU won by 5

We'll see in the next few weeks when TCU comes up against OK St and Oklahoma.

TCU has played some of the worst defenses in the nation with SMU, Texas Tech, WVU and K-State. Even Texas is giving up 31 points per game.

".. If they were padded, why was he SITTING OUT the 4th quarters? Facing 8-9 man fronts 9 (sometimes 10 ) for 3 quarters and still getting to 200 yards isn't padding..."

******************************************************************************
THIS , fer chrissakes , man ! ... Sorry dude , but we did NOT play McNeese. Syracuse is not a cupcake team ( and on the road ) , Western Kentucky is no softie ( they of the sometimes 10 man front box ) and a Conf Champ , EVERY team has "stacked the box" w/ 8-9 man fronts and focus down on stopping LF . When LSU "secures victory" LF sits . Do we have to explain to you how many tds/TPC Fournette would have if CLM let him go ... sheesh ...

So his lowest yards per carry in the entire season so far is what you base this ridiculous comment off of?? How about the entire season for these guys...

1982 Herschel
ypc - 5.2

1985 Bo Jackson
ypc = 6.4

1998 Ricky Williams
ypc = 5.9

1999 Ron Dayne
ypc = 6.0

2010 Marc Ingram
ypc = 5.5

His Heisman campaign was launched in High School and because he's a freak. He went to the top of the list this year based on last year, especially the way he ran rampant on ND.

As for padding stats in cupcake games, it's worth noting the he has one less cupcake game because of the season opener being cancelled. Syracuse had a top 10 run defense. Florida was Florida.

Not saying this because of LF, but I think most football fans outside of Texas and Oklahoma are tired of seeing the Heisman go to over-hyped system QBs who put up video game numbers against inferior competition.

You misunderstand the point. I did not say a 5.8 yards in a single game eliminates somebody from the Heisman. Fournette is a candidate because he doesn't average 5.8 yards per carry on the season. He has a much more impressive average. 7.7. The average was padded against bad teams. Of course thats expected. Nothing wrong with that or with his game against Florida. It was very good. But don't act like Fournette's Heisman campaign was launched and/or supported primarily by his game against Florida. That simply isn't the case. That game was good enough to be a nice addition to his already incredible season.

Are you really this stupid or can you not see that this argument applies much more the Boykin than Fournette?

Boykin has faced one decent pass defense, Minnesota, where he went for 60% with a 5.9 ypa, 245 yards and 1 TD and 1 pick. Every other team he has played is either an FCS team or ranked 96 or worse in defending the pass. He has by far played the weakest competition that could be reasonably possible.

They can try all they want, fact is, Fournette is the best player in America and everybody knows it.

Ya know, isn't this the truth, and so brilliantly yet simply understated? Cracks me the F up when someone on TV just HAS to have a lil different take, 'cause this BS, and that BS, etc....

Leonard Fournette is having as good a season as anyone in the history of the goshdang sport, in a league that is as superior to the others as has ever been the case, in an offense that does not feature people, rests him, hasn't thrown the ball a whole lot because it hasn't had to, and is not very imaginative to the point of about 98,500 of the people watching him play know where the ball's going.

If he continues to perform ANYWHERE NEAR his current level, and doesn't win the Heisman because of some Woodsen vs Manning like campaign, it'll be friggin puke worthy. To think there is a "more outstanding college football player" that the running back from LSU, who is arguably the best running back in the history of the sport, competition of course considered, is nuts.

What an idiot. Ban yourself, please. 180 yards against arguably the best defense in SEC and the country is not "pedestrian".

bullshite. 5.8 on itself is good and to do it against a top 15 rush defense is ridiculous! Trent Richardson was third in heisman voting and he averaged 5.9 for the year. Ingram won the heisman and he averaged 6.12 for the year. If he averages 5.8 ypc on his worst days, I'd HATE to defense this dude.

I have yet to see a RB tear up the defenses that Fournette played as well as he did.

I mean shite dude, he could have set a new SEC single game rushing record against Auburn. He could have went over 300 vs Syracuse if not for his second long TD wasn't called back because of some bullshite. He had 158 with 10:30 to go in the 3rd quarter vs South Carolina and you see how bad Guice tore that defense up after Fournette turned it into putty.

He was only the 10th player in NCAA history with 1000 yards rushing in his first 5 games (he did it in 4.5 games). He was the first RB in SEC history to rush for 3 consecutive 200+ yard games and he was doing it when we had no passing offense to speak of.
