That run last night was Fournette-esque... so good that Holgerson had to give him props.

I have no problem saying Boykin is an unreal athlete and a great guy

With that said, I think Fournette will and should win the Heisman

One of you stat/numbers list the number of quarters the two have played because I'm pretty damn sure that Boykin has played in a lot more quarters than LF.

I can tell by the comments that most didn't watch the game. The only thing impressive about that game was the bad refs. WVU was in the game until the refs put it out of reach. Bad calls all over the place. Any time TCU stalled out and it was 3rd and long a flag magical appeared. They got 5 PI calls on 3rd down. Not saying WVU would have won but the game should have been much closer, within 7-10 points.

My argument was that 5.8 overall is not enough
If he averages 5.8 the rest of the year (5.7 is his season low vs. MSU) getting 25 carries per game, that's 145 yds per game or another 580 yards. Would put him at 1962 yards on the year not including post season.

For his average to dip all the way to 5.8, assuming he gets 25 carries in the next 4 games, he would have to average just 62 yards per game (2.49 pyc). That's with him still playing aTm and Ole Miss, two of the worst rush defenses in the SEC.

only way if boykin wins it is if TCU is in prime position to go to the NC and LF doesnt put up more than 100yds for the rest of the season

Remaining games:

Fournette

Team / Rushing defense rank
@Alabama 4
Arkansas 18
@Ole Miss 26
Texas A&M 102

Boykin

Team / Passing defense rank

@Oklahoma State 18
Kansas 125
@Oklahoma 13
Baylor 75

Fournette has 3 of 4 games against legit run defenses. Boykin has 2 of 4 games against legit pass defenses.

They both have two road games against legit defenses.

Yeah, 5.8 YPC against a defense giving up 3 yards a carry and keying in on stopping the rush is very "pedestrian."

180 yards and 2 TDs vs a top 20 rush defense is pedestrian now

More comparisons with similarly-styled RBs who had Heisman-worthy seasons:

Yds, YPC, TDs

2004 Peterson: 1925, 5.7, 15
2006 McFadden 1647, 5.8, 14
2007 McFadden: 1830, 5.6, 16

I guess your NCAA running back on Xbox has 10yds a carry right?

Fournette is the first back in SEC history to run for 200 in three straight games. SEC teams play similar schedules each year so tell me how he is the first one to do it?

Since when is 5ypc bad? Averaging 5ypc against Alabama will win him the Heisman you dumb college frick

He was a great demonstration of athleticism, that's all. Fournette-esque - No.

Here are the facts:

It was a 7 yard run off a broken play.

Up by 30 with 7 minutes left and he was still in the game chunking it. That was pretty pathetic on TCU's part. I am glad the announcers finally mentioned that he needs to be on the sideline.

I think they were trying to win by as many points as possible

Remember, this team feels they were wrongly left out

TCU has been on the outside looking in before. They're trying to leave no doubt in people's minds that they are worthy. The reality is voters are people too, and they can get caught up in emotion. Seeing TCU beating teams by 50 week in and week could possibly help them. I don't blame them.

Correct.

It's not that they're trying to pad Boykin's stats, they're trying to make their wins as impressive as possible to impress the committee and get in the playoff, after getting left out last year.

I don't blame them one bit.
