No question

L. F.

I was not a fan of T. M. The way he disrespected his teammates, but he is a fine young man now and has my respect. He is a perfect example of my comments for these young men. If they frick up kick them out of school and good things will happen

TM7 is my favorite football player ever!

Pissed me off that he screwed up and got suspended, but I got over it. He made some dumb decisions, but he is certainly no thug.

This shouldn't be about whether Tyrann Mathieu is a thug or not. He was a dumb kid who made dumb mistakes, paid a heavy price and then learned and matured. Good for him.

The question is who will bring the most publicly to the university and that is likely to be Leonard.

If does go on and win Heisman Fournette would be a legend before he even leaves campus. They might have to have a separate Fournette day from Fan Day next year. I don't see Fournette getting in trouble that got the Honey Badger booted and if he stays healthy should be a top 10 pick in 17 draft.

I didn't say it in my OP but I was thinking more along the lines of publicity that will result in a recruiting bump. HB's extraordinarily high profile as a db definitely helped bring in some national guys we may not have gotten otherwise. If you catch recruits when they are most impressionable, say when they are freshmen or sophmores, you can surely affect their decision on which school they choose.

Out there somewhere in the country is a future stud player that is watching LF7 and perhaps will become an LSU because of him!

Fournette will be like Shaq. He loves the school and the school loves him and if he just continues on this same path he will be able to write his own legacy and do whatever he wants in Baton Rouge for the rest of his life.

While TM was a great player and I don't think he was a thug- he wasn't nearly as like able at Fournette and will not have those opportunities.

TLC weighs in ... in favor of LF7:

"I don't want no thug
a thug is a guy that can't get no love from me
hangin' out the passenger side of JJ's ride
blowin' weed smoke at me"

FWIW ... IMO, HB is not a thug. Not by a long shot. He's a hell of a player who was young and did what a lot of us did when we were young ... i.e. make foolish decisions that you try to overcome ... and learn from mistakes and go forward ... rather than continue to spiral down or live with regret and wasted chances asking "what could have been"

Honey Badgers legacy is still being written. He was a great tiger, he made a mistake, and he has clearly learned from it and quit performing at-risk behaviors. There is a lot to be proud of there.

Fournette will probably earn LSU more positive publicity.

The winner in all this- St Aug Purple Knights!
