Danielle Hunter had really mediocre production at LSU and has quietly turned into a superstar and one of the best pass rushers in the league for over a decade.
He has averaged 11.5 sacks/season over 10 seasons as a pro and had 4.5 sacks TOTAL at LSU over 3 years.

Terrible post. Why call out former LSU athletes. That’s the athletes that made LSU. Even the subs are important. Wow
It’s not a call out thread you douche. Like I said, I’m happy for them.

Honestly Boutte
A couple years after the draft and now he's showing his worth. I always thought he'd make it. Too much talent.

How can Speights be such a solid NFL LB? He was terrible at LSU. Was he that poorly coached here???
When we lost the D Line coach, House (also the LB coach) spent a lot more time with the linemen. Since Speights was already "good", House basically ignored him, I guess figuring there were bigger holes to patch. Combine that with stepping into a new team and scheme.
It's criminal what happened to Speights here.

Dan Alexander. He was a Hell of a D-lineman at LSU and played for 13 years as an O-lineman for the Jets.

He wasn’t terrible. He got hurt early on, missed a few games and I don’t think was ever right.

Cordale Flott. Didn’t think he’d last the first training camp but he’s carved out a nice career—all with the Giants. And cornerback is probably the most demanding “kill or be killed” position in the game.

Speights was absolutely horrible for LSU.
A perfect example of a coach not capable of fitting a players skill set to a scheme, then placing them in a position to fail on the field.
That defense was LOADED with misappropriating players skills - and it started at the top with Kelly.

Anyone said Craig Nall yet?

Would put Damone Clark up there. Struggled many years at LSU finally came around his senior year and has done very well with cowboys.

Ryan Clark, yeah he is insufferable racist and has a huge inferiority complex when it comes to white people. He carved out a long NFL career but at LSU the dude was not a good safety might well have been nicknamed toast for so many times he was burned.

Anyone predicted Danny Etling would share a QB room with Tom Brady. He was also a member of six other teams as the quintessential backup or emergency quarterback. He has recently been hired by Washington to be Jayden Daniels QB coach.

I know you were asking about football , but I was totally wrong about Naz Reid.

I think it is a little different for backup and especially 3rd string QB's. It would appear the biggest thing they value is smart guys that are also hard workers know their role. Not to be chasing a starting job but be a scout QB and prepare the team each week for the next game.

Garrett Nussmeier. I think he'll shine in the NFL

I’m showing my age on this one, but in 1990 a man by the name of Kenny Davidson was picked in the 2nd round by the Steelers. When they announced the selection my response was, “Who?” He was never a star but lasted 7 years in the league.
“It was late in the afternoon on a Sunday late in April when the Pittsburgh Steelers stunned everyone who claimed to be an expert on the 1990 National Football League draft.
In the second round, the Steelers selected LSU defensive lineman Kenneth Davidson.
When the Steelers explained Davidson was 6-foot-5, 274-pounds and could run a 40-yard dash in 4.64 seconds, that seemed to fit in with his standing as a No. 2 pick. But then came the disturbing news.
Davidson wasn't even a starter for his college team as a senior. He was a backup, and the player who kept him on the bench, Karl Dunbar, wasn't selected by anyone until the Steelers also picked him on the eighth round.”
No one picks on Davidson pick anymore
