My father, Tony Russell, who played for the Tigers from 1965-1969 died Thursday at the age of 72. Tony played left guard and was All-SEC while at LSU. He played on one of the Tigers best teams in 1969, losing once and not going to a bowl because ND ended a bowl boycott that season. Survived by his wife of 49 years and three sons, including me. RIP Dad, a Tiger for life and now a Tiger in heaven!

Those were the first years I started following the Tigers. Great players and teams back then.
Sorry for your loss.

I saw another thread earlier. Great guy and big loss. I’m so sorry for you and your family. Losing your Dad that young or at any time is so difficult. I wish I had more words. You will always love and miss your Dad. I hope memories eventually help you all continue to celebrate his life.

I was 11 years old in 1969 and would listen to every game with my Dad on the car radio. Those were magical moments provided by your Dad and the rest of those young men, and for that I will always be grateful. God bless your Dad. So sorry to hear this. Prayers and condolences to you and your family.

I was 12 at the time and also listened to every game on the radio. Your dad is part of my best memories as a Tiger fan! My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

My condolences. Don't give up. You may feel hopeless right now. You may feel like you're never going to get better. But feeling that way is a symptom of your condition. If you give yourself some time and allow your treatment to take effect, you will feel better again.
