Dude I am LSU through and through. Had all my gear on tonight! My dad played football for the Tigers in the 1960s. Has nothing to do with fandom. Just giving the facts. I wanted it to be a home run but the kid touches the ball. I can’t dispute that
First things first - I was in left field stands and was less than 20 feet from the play. Saw it all and the aftermath. Here is a breakdown :

1. The kid reached over the wall and touched the ball with his glove in the field of play. The front half of his glove was past the top of the wall. He definitely touched the ball and was even saying out loud during the review “It hit my glove”.

2. That said, if he doesn’t touch the ball, I am almost 100 percent sure the ball hits the top of the wall on the yellow line and is a home run.

3. The left fielder had no shot at catching it. At worst is hits the wall and bounces away for at least a double.

4. The sad part for the kid is he was probably no more than 14 or so and had moved from directly in front of me to just a few feet over in the 8th to sit by his mom. Had he not done that he wouldn’t have been there at all.

5. After it was ruled interference, he was - by rule- kicked out. Of course he was upset but to me it looked like he was more upset about screwing up the home run instead of missing the rest of the game.

So, to wrap up, IMO the right call was made according to the rules but it’s sad to see that this kid will have this on him for a while because he reached out a few inches too far to catch a ball that he had been hoping to get all night. As Jay Johnson said after the game, common sense should have taken over but didn’t.

P.S. Anybody got any questions about it, I’ll do my best to answer it from my perspective.

Going to my first game in at least 10 years live. Will be in left field bleachers in front with $6 SeatGeek tickets. Got Champions parking pass off Ticket Exchange board here for $20. Gonna be a good night! Hopefully a win? One can dream!

When they didn't get into the Cotton Bowl to play undefeated Texas, the team voted to not go to a bowl game as they didn't want to play in a minor bowl. I still have the trophy they got made that says they got "screwed" with a screw on the plaque!

My father, Tony Russell, who played for the Tigers from 1965-1969 died Thursday at the age of 72. Tony played left guard and was All-SEC while at LSU. He played on one of the Tigers best teams in 1969, losing once and not going to a bowl because ND ended a bowl boycott that season. Survived by his wife of 49 years and three sons, including me. RIP Dad, a Tiger for life and now a Tiger in heaven!

Big trade I made..

If you think I'm an idiot, so be it.

I gave up: King Felix, Verlander and Leake

I got: Shields, Haren, Samardjia, A.J. Ramos.

I think it's a decent deal even though i gave up Hernandez. What say you guys?
Rivers vs. NE, Ben vs. Cincy or Fitz vs. Jaguars? first week of my playoffs

He's playing the Jets next week. enough said!
Byron, several sites and threads had the Packers defense as better than average and they had done a good job of stopping the pass up to this point. Now, I should have started Brees, but to say no one thought the Packers were good is not quite right. That said, I was still stupid for sitting Drew!!! :banghead:
Dumb me tried to get cute last week and sit Brees and start Flacco since the Packers defense was supposed to be good. Well I lost by 6 because Flacco played like crap and couldn't even throw one TD!

My dad was senior and played for the Tigers in that game. He still laments the loss, but hates ND even more because of the whole bowl fiasco at the end of the year! Doesn't help that I am a notre dame fan!
