Very weird set of circumstances. I guess this is just a backup plan if he gets cut?

Would definitely take him

Losing Reliford and Shanklin put a hit on that DE room

Several players were going for this and apparently now it's been approved. This pretty much kills college sports as we know it.

Would love to have him back. He put pressure and was soooo close so many times. He really hustled too. His lead blocks were solid from H back.

like, voluntarily leaving an nfl team to go back to college is mind blowing to me.

it has to just be a backup plan. I saw an interview with him the other day talking about how much he loved the NFL and was working way harder there than in college at LSU and Florida.

Or could be agent leverage to get a full NFL contract. Thats the next logical step in this disaster.

In what world would you ever have thought LSU could go and get someone who just recorded 2 sacks in the NFL last week.

Everyone hinted about this when the ruling came down. Scone isn't anything special

He has to be doing it preemptively for when he gets put on practice squad. Also doesn’t have to come back to LSU.

Had two sacks vs the Jets last week.

This is the most meaningless ruling we've had in some time. In fact, it's one of the few consistent with NCAA rules.

Players left in the spring not knowing they would be granted an extra year. This makes sense as it relates to the 5 for 5.

What's annoying is no one benefits from this more than Ole Miss.

Per multiple reports, former LSU defensive end Jack Pyburn is among 16 players that have been granted temporary restraining orders to return to college football this upcoming season. The case includes other former SEC players like Ole Miss defensive lineman Xzavian Harris and safety Wydett Williams.

To a large degree college sports "as we know it" has been dead for a few years now. This was just an inevitable next step. Diego Pavia's lawyer essentially argued that it was antitrust type behavior to prohibit Pavia from playing another year at Vandy (last season) because it prohibited from a signficant marketplace for him as a football player. College players not good enough to play in the NFL lobbying to essentially become "professional" college football players was inevitable. With every local judge giving a favorable ruling, the NCAA seems helpless to stop it.

As a college football fan in general I think it is absurd. But as an LSU fan it is simply a part of the competitive landscape. If your competitors are doing it then you are at a competitive disadvantage if you DON'T do it too
