Why don’t we just hire Skip? He’s only got one fewer Omaha appearance than Bianco in the last 20 years

That was all they wanted to talk about was, "Who else are you gonna hire? He'd do great." Also said Dan McDonnell (my choice) was "too expensive".

Too expensive, McDonnell makes 1.05 million, Mulkey gonna start at 2.5 million. You would think LSU would offer at least over 2 million. This basically doubles his salary or more. Does Louisville give him that big of a raise in a year he didn’t make the tournament?

Make that 21 years and he’s tied (with a title)

Wasn't it former football players who got O to hire Pelini sight unseen last year?

Look how that turned out.

Sounds like the former players who wanted Johnny Jones - did not work out.

Whoever the coach is has to either embrace the pressure or have thick skin. Ole miss baseball has been good but the pressure to win isn’t the same as LSU. Does Bianco want that? And what, former players get access for 3 to 5 years if he doesn’t win a title? Any new coach has to see who paved the way. If he ignores them, he won’t be here long.

They were whining about not wanting to buy out his contract.

Just watch, we hire Bianco and OM gets either Cliff Godwin or McDonnell. I would implode.

I remember when a lot of players wanted Mike Archer. That worked out well.

1 trip to Omaha in 20 years. You don’t need to be Tommy Lasorda to see that’s not good enough.

Would 7 trips in 10 years be a good candidate?

Remember when all those former players wanted Johnny Jones to be the basketball coach? How did that work out. Former players know dick about picking coaches.

Bianco is fine for a program that wants to host Supers. If you want to win them.... you need someone else.

If it’s Bianco, the good ole baws will get their way and LSU will sink further further away from their once glory years. It’s the same shite that plagued Bama pre Saban.

Bianco makes tons of sense if you really think LSU is the elevated job that people think it is. 17 regionals in 20 years - 10 hosts - 9 super regionals and a 3rd place finish in the CWS. There are about 2 coaches out there with a better resume.
