No experience? He’s been coaching for 14 years man. What kind of logic says you have to be a DC before you get your first DC job? What should we do keep letting assistants go somewhere else and succeed while we hire the Canada’s and Pelini’s of the world because “they have experience?”

This will make or break coach 0. If he’s dumb enough and does make Raymond the DC then the writing is on the wall. I’m not saying he can’t or won’t be a great DC one day, but LSU probably isn’t the place to cut teeth, especially with a moron head coach that 10000% has to rely on his coordinators for success.

That’s not why he was passed over. If Arnsparger would’ve been given the AD job Spurrier would’ve come here.

Does Raymond even want that or are people just pushing this?

The last time LSU admins caved in to players demands we got Mike Archer. Let that sink in a moment.

Raymond should’ve took his shot as DC at a smaller school earlier in his career. He could’ve came back after being successful.

Shouldn’t be a chance

This hire could tank Os career. You’re hiring someone with 0 experience? What a joke.

Former players were pushing for Johnny Jones too. Emotional feel-good hires rarely work out.

No.

This thread is showing our brilliant fans mindset and logic which led to mass praise of the Bo Pelini hire. Pure ignorance

Guys holy shite y’all are acting like I’m the one pushing for Raymond to be hired. I explicitly said that’s not what I want to happen.

I only said that if that was going to happen it should’ve happened after the auburn game on an interim basis.

You can stop trying to crucify me now

What assistants have we let get away that became successful as coordinators/head coach?

I’d rather keep Raymond than risk him flaming out and getting fired

2 years , 2.5 million

If he’s good enough extend him. If not then we get the next hot shot 2 yrs from now

Would be a terrible hire, he is not DC material, not at this level. He knows it, others know it too. In fact, with Busch out, they better hire a DC with secondary background. Look he played here, played in the NFL, I sort of get this boards obsession with him, but he is not DC material, and you don't want that.
