He’s been under those guys you just named for a decade and a half plus all the other personal experience he’s had. How do you guys defend logic that says “you can’t ever be hired for a position you’ve never had?”
No one is saying you can’t be hired for a position you’ve never had, but you seem to be saying something equally stupid - that years of service as an understudy is all it takes to be great at the top job.

Truly believe he doesn’t want to be DC. He gets paid an assload to have far lower pressure gig.

I've always been a big promotor of Raymond, but he has been less than great lately in recruiting his positions.
Do your job well, and maybe you'll get a promo...

He also lost a percentage of the locker room over the social justice/Fox/Trump stuff. Hiring CR might mend some of those fences.
If you don’t have the locker room, Bellicheck won’t help you on defense.
The ex players are boxing O into a corner with this hire.
Serious question
Do you ever hear of players making Coaching hire suggestions at Bama? Locker room division because of hurt feelings?
Saban is the CEO of that business.

He got the best corner in the country last year and the year before.

Hey now, getting rid of Archer was a mistake!

this is a terrible idea. 1. Former players are always going to bat for their coach. shite it happened with Bo, we had tons of 07 players pull for him to get the job. 2. the limited budget shite is a brooks fake media lie. We just won a title a year ago, our boosters like winning titles, you win titles by spending money. 3. its also bad because if O gets this wrong then he is fired. it would be very trusting to put in Raymond with no experience when you get this wrong and its over.
