Woodward is scared of making another hire in a money sport. He's already screwed up a hire in each and knows his job will actually be at risk if he bombs another. He's pumping money into the player budgets and praying it manages to turn football or basketball around next season.

It will be “It was only Year 1 of NIL. They take time!”
The treatment with kid gloves will continue as the rest of the conference pulls away.

Player retention has not been an issue. No player has left LSU and thrived elsewhere since McMahon arrived.
Yeah but he’s also not maximizing them while they are here. Look at the 2022 team in Wade’s last year. Not many of those guys transferred out and had success at other schools, that being said, we certainly maximized their talent here. It’s not just a talent gap, it is a failure to develop

Just an estimate from a discussion that Vandys third best player was paid $700-800k
I dont t have a link
The amount of money players are getting is going up for now.

What evidence is there that McMahon is working with nothing? The recruiting rankings (both high school and transfer) do not show that at all.

If recruits read the rant like some claim, he'll need Musk type money. What player would want to come play for this fanbase.

Yep, all the mcmen do is shite on players to protect their hero. Sad they get blamed for his ineptitude.

We'll be out of excuses so hopefully this works.

The McMen are really painted into a corner with this narrative. If he needs more NIL money, then it shows he hasn’t been able to recruit.. On the other hand, if he’s able to “recruit well” as they claim, then why are the results the way they are?

I wouldn’t bet on the excuses running out. These people are very resourceful when it comes to evading accountability.

I'll say this, Vandy's incoming roster this year was so well thought of that they were pretty much unanimously picked to finish last in the SEC this year.

roster construction and retention aspects I have concerns about guarantee more $$ magically solves the problems. In other words - I still have concerns about CMM using the extra money efficiently.
Roster construction is adversely impacted when you are competing with more well funded programs. The talent deficiencies then result in more losses which makes it even harder to recruit.
Then hire a coach who can inspire and help encourage funding. I'll keep repeating but everyone knows it's true. We would not be in the bottom third or likely even the bottom half of the SEC in NIL funding if the previous coach was still coaching here.
And as for player retention I point to Ward this year and Cook last year - there are others as well. i emphasize those two because they were significant.

We've won two in a row. At least wait until they lose again before insulting the Coach.

McMahon probably isn't the guy, but let's not act like giving him less than half of what other schools work with is a recipe for success, especially with us coming off sanctions.
Bring your shite arse takes back to the pelicans board
