In recent history, if a coach doesn't win a NC in his first 3 or 4 years, he's not going to win one. Period. Since 2000, Mack Brown and Dabo Swinney are the exceptions to that rule.
So, a NC next year.

Both losses are as underdogs (say, Alabama and Auburn), but the games are well-played and memorable- and he takes the blame for losing on himself both times, praising his team's effort and saying he let his team down. No half-assed comments throwing players under the bus like he did last year.
Follow that with a decisive bowl win over a nationally recognized team, a game that was either a tossup or we are underdogs in.
And then, a boring offseason, zero drama. In fact, no drama from him or the team during the season either.
If he does the above, I'll be willing to put my hesitance on hold for a year, and give him a chance to continue it.
That's why Miles was fired. LSU was not a trainwreck, it merely had slid a notch to "a very good team". People were frustrated that we weren't winning the SEC every other season anymore, that we had fallen out of the race. Miles' successor was supposed to put us back there.

I forgave him last year for Troy (which was 100% his fault I might add). I saw a lot of grit after Troy. I accepted the 9 & 4. I can deal with 10 & 3 this go round IF I HAVE TOO. I want to be in the hunt, though, so my expectations are higher, and they will be every season. IF he can get me a minimum of 10 & 3, I'll give him a 3rd year, but then I will expect to win the SEC and earn the playoff berth.

Beat Bama! Quit focusing on number of wins. Our previous coach proved you can get 10 wins a season and still be completely irrelevant in December.
