“Going away” just means he is signing back in as Tiger Ree or Space Cowboy.

You aren't paying shite, but if you want to blame someone blame alleva. You think O negotiated that contract? Also, it is clear you are still in school and have never held a true professional job. That's not a knock on you, I hope you do well in life. You will learn one day that subordinates cannot be allowed to undermine a boss. This goes way beyond hurt feelings or offensive success. I didn't agree with the Canada hire because of his track record of personal issues with authority. I did hope for the best. Clearly it didn't work out, and when you make a mistake you should correct it immediately. Oh yeah, O is the head coach, whether you like it or not. Not the DL coach. You can't be taken seriously when your agenda is so blatant

you are most certainly becoming my favorite poster.

Chavis was not that great of a recruiter when he was here at LSU. If Arkansas can get top-notch defensive talent to play for him, he'll probably field some decent defenses from time to time, but imho, Arkansas could do better than him.

Orgeron shouldn't have hired Canada in the first place if he knew this to be true and it would present a problem for him.

I had a melt yesterday about chavis and have not been thrilled since his name has came up.

Surprisingly, there are Arkansas fans who are defending his hire.

he was fine at UT and LSU. TAMU is a coach killer. it is ole miss west. all DC's have their pros and cons. who knows chavis may be burnt out.

First off, wasn't a big fan of hiring O but have to live with it now. Secondly, you're wrong about the influence O has, he has ultimate control over every aspect of the game/team because he's the head coach. Yes he was a d-line coach but he's in charge so ultimately can tell coordinators what to run/call whether he knows anything or not.

I love how being ranked 17th, back with Washington State and Michigan State, is “finishing in the top 10”.

17 is now 10. It’s part of the new ranking system to get us to #1.

Just playing devil's advocate here, what if Canada wasn't in fact O's pick? Let's say kiffin was and when that fell through alleva stepped in and said " ok, I gave you the job and your guy fell through, now it's my call. Hire Canada." As we are finding out O is trying to hire guys he's coached with before and don't think he had ever coached with Canada so there you go. Maybe, just maybe. Lol ??

Not trying to insinuate that you are dumb or anything, but you are dumb.

Since you are unaware, the poll that has LSU ranked #17 will have them ranked #17 until next November. It will never change.

The coaches poll has LSU ranked #14 and will change based on bowl game results as will the AP poll.

Canada was Eaux's pick based on a recommendation from Dave Aranda. Dave Aranda had coached against Canada in a game when he was at Utah St and Canada was with Wisconsin. Dave Aranda also bought a house from Matt Canada when he moved to Wisconsin.

ESPN Staff Writer

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Dave Aranda and Matt Canada have crossed paths on the playing field before. They’ve also intersected on the real-estate market.

Aranda’s Utah State defense did a good job stifling Canada’s offense when their teams met in 2012, only to see the Badgers escape with a 16-14 win when Utah State kicker Josh Thompson missed a 37-yard field goal in the closing seconds.

“I feel like we should have won that game,” Aranda said

And yet his experience defending Canada’s versatile attack left Aranda impressed with his new co-worker. Canada insists he runs a simple offense that LSU players should be able to learn quickly, but Aranda said the pre-snap shifts and misdirection plays are more than enough to keep a defense on its heels.

“The jet sweep’s a big, big component of it. I think we saw that some in this league,” Aranda said. “The misdirection he does with all the motions and shifts and quarterback run, I think as a defensive coordinator, you love to be able to see this type of offense in the spring because you see everything.

After Kiffin got a HC gig, Coach Eaux asked Aranda who he thought was the most difficult OC to prepare for and defend against. The rest is history.
