Actually I would wager that most HC candidates, assuming we had a competent AD and search would realize O was, to put it kindly a bad fit.

The AD would say you what I had to do with my previous regime? After a bad loss to a Sun Belt team where the HC stripped the OC of playcalling and told him he could not use the motions and shifts, I had to call an unprecedented in the history of college football meeting with the HC, OC and DC to explain responsibilities.

So yeah I figure most would understand and appreciate that a change was necessary.

Top tier coaches are smart. They would realize that O was not part of their fraternity and would understand LSU moving on from this failed experiment.

Dave Aranda would clearly understand this and should be made to say no to being the head coach next year.

Will he be the next great one? I do not know, but I sure would hate to find out he is while watching him at another SEC school.

Turn around what? We were averaging 9 wins a year under Miles. It wasn’t a matter of turning anything around. It was more taking the next step. I’m not for firing him now but I’m definitely more concerned now than I was when he was hired. And I didn’t even like the hire.

No, LSU cannot legitimately fire Orgeron right now. You are absolutely correct. And despite the fact that I am really down on ol' O right now, hope springs eternal, and the prospect of hiring Kendall Briles, actually having a special teams coach, and closing out the recruiting class strong has me mildly optimistic. If he promotes Ensminger to OC, however, all bets are off and this coming season could well be O's last.

Bottom line: I won't give up, things happen, good things can happen, we have a lot of talent on the roster and coming in, but my faith in Coach Orgeron is not particularly high.

And let me add, someone that CAN and SHOULD be fired today is The Search.

Firing Orgeron with Alleva still working as AD will put us in the exact same position as this year. Stop talking about firing Orgeron, and talk about firing our shite AD.

The quality and importance of this point will be overlooked by too many here. That’s what the good ole boys running the administration are counting on. They’ll just sacrifice O and put in another puppet they can manipulate if they are allowed to.

Sure speaks highly of Alleva, doesn't it. I don't see O making it past 2018. O will be O no matter how much Alleva tries.

You're about to get hammered by idiots who wanted Jimbo (who with the 2nd most talented team in his conference had a losing record this year) and Herman/Hotlips (who recruited himself into getting fired in a year or two). Both who told LSU to kiss their arse at least once.

Coach Eaux is about to take his D-line and O-line recruiting and depth and crush both of those idiots in the next couple years.

The haters will make excuses for the coaches who told them to kiss their butt when it happens.

Will be very funny.

Good point, but in reality, money talks and bullshite walks. Any coach would sign on the dotted line for the right price. Hell, offer me $3.5 million and see how fast I’d take that contract! All that aside, we have 2 stud qb’s, the #1 receiver in the nation, big bad uglies coming in, and returning starters at almost every position. I think we should at least wait till after next season before we start another coaching search. In the meantime, if firing Alleva will help ease the pain of yesterday’s loss, please proceed with my blessings!

If they paid me enough money and I was guaranteed to have Dave Aranda and Corey Raymond on staff I could give a frick if my predecessor lasted 2 weeks.

A coach who has his staff dictated to him won't go to any school. If they saw the ND game they would question why LSU wanted to keep either coach. Rightfully so.

O's colleagues know he's a garbage coach. They wouldn't read too much into it.

You are hilarious with all this “coach Eaux” bs.

He will not reach even Miles’ Post-2011 level. And that’s not his fault entirely, he just can’t do it.

You don’t understand the sole reason O was hired is because he owes the administration complete loyalty for giving him the job. He is Alleva’s puppet. That’s what LSU is saddled with.

Stop with your anti-Aranda agenda, Derek. It's tiresome at this point.

Just incredible. How does having modest success with a MAC program transition into challenging proven winners like Saban, Smart, Jimbo, Mullen and even Muschamp in the SEC Game Of Thrones?

Umm, yeah.... Especially if Alleva was gone, but umm yeah, even If unfortunately he’s still and will be here. It’s about the money dawg. As the other cat was saying, it’s not like you have a tough act to follow. Coach O simply got lucky that the other SEC teams minus 3 of them, were way below average compared to their teams in the recent past. Several of them didn’t even make Bowl games along with being forced to fire their coaches. Oh and he did lose to Troy.

Yeah, with two FG kickers who can't kick FG's he inherited from the previous staff. Having to start 2 freshmen O-linemen all year and play 30+ true and RS freshmen.

Wait till you see his new D-line and O-lines before being an idiot.

I thought this wasn’t supposed to be a rebuild? He inherited a team that could win now and played one of the weakest sec schedules of all time and still managed 4 losses.

Well, LSU did finish ranked in the top 5 the last few years so you have a point. Ha Ha Ha
