IARP says they took comfort from restrictions from McNeese when hiring Will Wade.

Did not weigh that LSU had fired him when making decisions.

Show cause for Will is not totally restrictive, but instead is limited to ten game suspension.

So unless this independent panel member was lying...firing Wade did not help LSU.

Keeping in mind the panel is done with its work and will not take any other cases. Not sure there is any motivation for them to be dishonest.

Then it won’t hurt when we hire him back.

Firing Wade was facking stupid and told every other coach we'll ever have that the AD and institution do not have your back when things get rough.

Not likely, just rebutting the narrative floating around today that this was done to protect the program. It was not. Woody wanted him gone, period.

That is the shite kicker part that is 100% true that people applauding our AD for firing Wade don't want to talk about.

Was this in regards to Wade's punishments or LSU's though?

Was that known in March of last year? If not it’s meaningless 20/20 hindsight.

Long past time for you and other crybabies to get over it. Wade’s gone and he’s not coming back. If it was unnecessary to fire him, it’s too late now so move the frick on.

Ain't gonna happen, not after the arrogant and ignorant way WW got caught cheating at LSU. Now that recruiting $$$ is open to all, I doubt he'll still be an amazing recruiter. Plus WW is just an average coach IMO. Let's see what he does without all the talent that he no longer has and probably can't get.

Read the report, he actually was NOT (edited) caught paying players, and that includes the strong arse offer line. They got him in conversations with parents, asking a former player to help recruit and not reporting a blackmail attempt. All the “he got caught playing players” BS is no longer valid.

ETA. He also had one of the best portal classes for a low major program this year at McNeese. He still a great recruiter. He was winning recruiting battles against programs with much bigger checkbooks when he was at lsu.

So things are going back to pre-Wade and Post-John Brady when nobody cared about men’s basketball.
