There is a lot of speculation out there about Covid and this next football season, particularly after what happened to NC State.

Do we have any clue what the team vaccination rate is?

I've seen speculation on some other teams' boards that since Louisiana has a low rate of vaccinations, LSU is at greater risk of losing players or forfeiting because of positive tests.

Didn't a lot of the team already get Covid last year/season?

And you can get it after you've been "fully" vaccinated. What's your point? The natural antibodies last at least years and are stronger than the synthetic shot.

Somewhere between 0-100%.

You clowns just going right along with this nonsense are the real problem.

They need to drop the testing in NCAA sports

It already screwed NC State. With vaccines widely available, there’s no need to be doing Covid testing anymore unless someone gets really sick.

Dude. I think marijuana should be legal. But I'm going to call you a dumbass if you get busted crossing state lines with ten pounds of it. I didn't make it a problem. I am just a realist, and I deal with the rules as they are.

The NCAA will throw our asses out if we test too many positives. And they likely will be looking harder at teams that have low vax rates. You can think it's dumb, but it's there.

It is not my business to know what shots they have.

From the NCAA:

quote:

If there is evidence of substantial or high transmission in the community, or if there are COVID-19 variants that escape the effect of the vaccine, then testing may need to resume for fully vaccinated individuals.

They don’t give a shite if you’re vaccinated or not.

It was around 60% as of 6/30. Their goal is 80/85%.

Technically might not be our business to know any health or medical info about players. Except it’s all relevant to how well or whether they play. So we care, and we want to know.

If we want them to be able to play the games, the players need to be vaccinated.
NC State, golfers who had to drop out of the Open, and Olympians not being able to participate is not what we want.

The point is if 85% of the team is vaccinated the entire team doesn’t have to be tested and risk missing players for games

quote:

As of Tuesday, schools who have 85 percent of their team vaccinated can end surveillance testing for players, coaches and other staff regardless of whether those individuals are vaccinated or not. That policy was made by the conference’s medical guidance task force, which also lifted requirements for unvaccinated people wearing masks in facilities once the 85 percent threshold was reached.

Bama has reached their threshold. I do not think LSU has. Bama is all in and committed at every level. fricking machine
