That's a great story. Hope you have a blast!

If I were you, I'd contact the athletic department with these details and tell them you're coming in for your first game. I bet they'd hook you up. Maybe meet miles or something. He's cool like that.

Anyway,

Bite the opposite corners off a tim-tam and use it as a straw for your milk.

You're welcome.

BTW, I just Expedia'd a trip from DFW to Sydney. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how you can leave Sydney on 10/1 at 2:30pm and get to DFW on 10/1 at 1:30 pm.

hope you're not in steerage and have some room to stretch out and sleep...for this flight, ambien is your friend!!!

Hey mate I'm another supporter from Australia (sydney). I'll be In Baton Rouge to experience my first game against the gators in a few weeks! It's good to know there's more aussie fans out there. I hope you enjoy.

As for LSU... Many years ago when I was at school (ie before the internet) we had these enclopedias that I buried myself in. On the front of one was a LSU player, but with no mention of the team or who he was. Loving my sport I was following the NFL at the time, which pre internet in Australia, was damn hard. I couldn't work out what team it was and had no idea of the whole college football thing. The colours stuck and it was years later, I again saw a picture somewhere, and the team was identified.

This is one of the most interesting things I've ever read on here (I'm not kidding!). I hope you have a great time. The weather should be perfect and you are virtually assured a Tiger victory. Tell everyone where you will be or what you will be wearing and I'm sure you will get plenty of hook-ups for food and drink.

How did I come a fan...

My football team (rugby league) are the tigers as a background and I usually jump on any tiger teams (say in Australian Football or NFL).

As for LSU... Many years ago when I was at school (ie before the internet) we had these enclopedias that I buried myself in. On the front of one was a LSU player, but with no mention of the team or who he was. Loving my sport I was following the NFL at the time, which pre internet in Australia, was damn hard. So being a tiger, then finding out this team were also tigers, well I was all over that! My Aussie football teams suck! One of them (in rugby league) nearly came last this year. The other one (Australian football) got knocked straight out in first week of post season - the third year in a row
It is good to go for at least one tiger team who live up to the name!

I'll second what has already been said.... that is one of the coolest stories I've ever heard! Safe travels my friend and enjoy the game and atmosphere!

Thanks for all the kind words and advice guys :) Not sure I quite have the crocodile dundee accent, but I have to tone it down when I am in Europe (so locals can understand me) so I guess it must be a little bit Aussie!

As for what I am wearing... I will be in a dark green (I know will look like Michigan) t-shirt with 'AUS' on the front. It is a our national rubgy league colour. I need to get some shirts from the LSU Shop, so maybe I will be wearing those too, if I can't take bags into the stadium! Will also have a black 'Richmond Tigers' cap on :)

Feel free to come say hi if you see me wandering around the tailgates :)

first thing mate,is to make sure you eat some gumbo, jambalaya and boudin.and take home some jambalaya mix with you.

stay away from outback steakhouse.always screw up a medium rare steak.

i feel your pain about wests tigers.followed balmain and now wests tigers. a carlton man here,so i got me another wooden spoon.

and watch your slang, took years for people to understand what i was saying.though it does have magical powers on american women.

for those that love tim tams, they are sold in some supermarkets in baton rouge.
wife buys them for me all the time.
world market also sells plenty of aussie candy and vegemite.
