Yep this was the only game I could get to fit! I guess the advantage is I should see a LSU win. Would love to get to one of these massive games - next time :)
Last time I was on my own so don't think that was me. I did though have a great time with a couple of different tailgate parties.
Hi team - I visited two years ago for my first ever LSU game and had such an awesome time - so I am coming back :)

I have convinced a good mate who is based up around Washington DC on a navy exchange to support LSU so the two of us are heading to Baton Rouge for the game v Chattanooga.

Hoping to check out the tailgate scene prior to the game so let me know what the etiquette is. Tailgating is unknown in Australian sports so we aren't really sure how it works!

Really, really excited to be heading back to BTR :)

Geaux Tigers!
Ha! Bonstonker I know you well, from the wests tigers board, not that I have logged on there for a few years. I looove your YouTube clips.
I am diehard Balmain.
Great to hear you are LSU tiger as well ??
Thanks for all the kind words and advice guys :) Not sure I quite have the crocodile dundee accent, but I have to tone it down when I am in Europe (so locals can understand me) so I guess it must be a little bit Aussie!

As for what I am wearing... I will be in a dark green (I know will look like Michigan) t-shirt with 'AUS' on the front. It is a our national rubgy league colour. I need to get some shirts from the LSU Shop, so maybe I will be wearing those too, if I can't take bags into the stadium! Will also have a black 'Richmond Tigers' cap on :)

Feel free to come say hi if you see me wandering around the tailgates :)
Yep I noticed there were a couple of Aussies on the team.

I thought they might have been banned after Brad Wing's efforts a couple of years ago when he had a touchdown called back for taunting the opposition!

LSU Basketball were here in Brisbane a month or so back but I missed the game as I was in Europe. Super bad timing on my part!
How did I come a fan...

My football team (rugby league) are the tigers as a background and I usually jump on any tiger teams (say in Australian Football or NFL).

As for LSU... Many years ago when I was at school (ie before the internet) we had these enclopedias that I buried myself in. On the front of one was a LSU player, but with no mention of the team or who he was. Loving my sport I was following the NFL at the time, which pre internet in Australia, was damn hard. I couldn't work out what team it was and had no idea of the whole college football thing. The colours stuck and it was years later, I again saw a picture somewhere, and the team was identified.
So being a tiger, then finding out this team were also tigers, well I was all over that! My Aussie football teams suck! One of them (in rugby league) nearly came last this year. The other one (Australian football) got knocked straight out in first week of post season - the third year in a row :banghead:
It is good to go for at least one tiger team who live up to the name!
Yep you are right about that flight being the longest non-stop. It is going to be a killer!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I sure as hell better have my drinking boots on when I get to the states is what I am picking up :) I am planning to get to LSU before midday. I need to go and get a US SIM card when T-Mobile open at 9am and will probably head there after that to fit it all in :)
Yep the timings are all out this weekend with AFL and NRL grand finals on as well. Will have to keep an eye out for rugby...
Sin City Tigers - love it! Haven't planned that far ahead but will still be in Vegas so that sounds great :)
Chose this game as I am in Vegas the following week for a work conference (AWS). Work wasn't too happy I wasn't flying straight in and out, but I can't be that close and not get to a game. I would seriously love a bama / ole miss game but it was just whatever was happening around this conference.
I am at Greenslopes - nice and close to the centre.
Hi team - long time LSU fan but have never been to a game. That is all about to change though as I will be at the game this weekend v Eastern Michigan.
Hoping to check out the tailgate scene as we have nothing like that here in Australia. Too many laws and over regulated!
Dumb question... What time does 'tailgating', if that is a word, start? Do people pack straight up after the game or does it continue after the game?
Really excited but not looking forward to the 15.5hr flight from Sydney to DFW :(
Cheers,
Matt
