Kind of weird to blame that on a week 0 game and not the fact that we had a half functioning head coach barely holding onto the threads of the program

Biggest opener since Texas 2019. Excited to see the boys play and I think we’ll get the W.

People keep saying this...

Does anyone honestly believe we are in the same space? We were trying to hype ourselves up and make excuses for the 2020 season (Covid, lost Brennan, other injuries, social unrest, etc etc).

In reality, we had a horrible coach, he made terrible hires because no one wanted to work with him. We had Max fricking Johnson as our QB who is 3rd string for an SEC rival, our 2 best DBs barely played, our program nutrition and conditioning wise was a disaster.

Not a single thing about last year has to do with this year. This team will be 100% different, their attitude will be different, and the results will be different

Why do you say this? Have you seen this DL play in the new scheme and against quality OL yet? I’m all for optimism but saying either team is in deep shite before seeing them play a down against another team is ridiculous. I mean further down the board, another poster is saying the OL is handling the DL at practice. So which is it?

Maybe, but wait until our coaches confront their fans about their Sissy Boy-colored game jerseys. That's what made UCLA fold...

Yep and don’t forget all the ‘skull dragging’ we pulled through.

DL is loaded with a lot of guys that look the part and have great potential, but not a whole lot of production so far in their careers.

Texas was not LSU's opener in 2019. GA Southern was.

From what I read/heard they are down to their third center. Backup out for the year and projected starter is likely to miss first two games.

I refuse to forget although I feel a lot better with Kelly at the wheel and the fact we’re playing in the dome. But the sting from last year I remember well! More so the double wammy of that pathetic showing and the fact we just got drilled by Hurricane Ida!

To me all 3 power 5 openers about the same
Miami
UCLA
Florida St
At the time each team Big Brand, supposedly improving, but not picked to be great. Each team above middle of the pack, all trying to get to Bowl game. Miami ranked, Goats first game, UCLA (LSU not prepared, mailed it in)
Florida St. trending up but LSU more talented still, not worried about CBKs preparation, if we execute we’ll win, but Norvell will have them ready. I just think we have 3 advantages
1. Better Talent
2. Better Coach
3. Home?!? Not Tiger Stadium but home away from home.
We imho are going to beat the socks off a very competitive football team, we are going to be better than people think, better physically, better mentally, better prepared, and will become a Power in the next 3 years.

Just curious

I will gladly come back and eat crow and offer congrats if we lose. Will you do the same if the situation is reversed?

We turned over 60% of the roster and literally every coach and support staff in the building except for like 3 people. We should expect some growing pains.

On the other hand, they return I think 80% of their starters and have a warm up game

Not saying we can’t win, but it’s not going to be easy.

You are overhyping a game the week prior.

This is true. We like the guy who’s stepping in there (Darius Washington, who’s started a bunch of games at both tackle spots for us over the past couple years), but he’s coming off an injury himself and has little experience at center at this level. Will be a massive test for him straight out of the gate (assuming our starter doesn’t return by then).
