Useless comparison. All that matters is the differential in Daniels vs FSU defense compared to Travis vs LSU defense

Yeah but…doesn’t this analysis help answer those questions?

I just don’t see any way they keep it close. We have way superior athletes 44-20

Think you’re in for a surprise my friend…

Definitely expecting a good game. In fact, kind of expecting a classic. Both offenses should move the ball, both teams are well coached, both have championship aspirations this year. As an FSU fan, I’ll tell you we have a depth of talent we haven’t had since…2014? Can’t wait for this one.

Since when did FSU get a SEC type defensive line?

I’m 35 and I’d estimate we’ve had an “SEC type” defensive line for about 30 of those years.

Is their o line better at running blocking or pass protection when healthy?

I’d say run blocking.

So you’re saying they had a couple shrimps on the barbie eh??
Been a little bit…

But those a$$hats don’t deserve anybody’s support. They sniff their own farts.

It’s crazy that Jimbo left y’all for Texas 8&4 gotta speak volumes of how bad your program is, how’s it feel knowing Florida gators is your daddy

Think LSU knows a little more about winning there than FSU

Oh we’ve won there a lot.

When I was 4…

But FSU fans have an affinity for the dome. Lots of good memories there, including beating Vick’s Va Tech team in a crazy game for a natty, beating the gators like a red headed step child in a rematch of a famous regular season tie (please forget that they executed us there in a similar rematch in ‘96–spurrier’s best ever team), whooping an overrated Ohio State team’s a$$ after they were talking a gang of sh1t.

We’re trying to recreate some of that old magic. We’ll see if we have the talent to do it.

I’d point you to a couple podcasts:

“On The Bench” from Noles247, and

“Seminole Headlines” from Warchant.

I’ve been listening to a couple of Matt Moscona’s “LSU Daily” podcasts to try to get a feel for y’all’s team. Anything else I should check out?

From what I read/heard they are down to their third center. Backup out for the year and projected starter is likely to miss first two games.

This is true. We like the guy who’s stepping in there (Darius Washington, who’s started a bunch of games at both tackle spots for us over the past couple years), but he’s coming off an injury himself and has little experience at center at this level. Will be a massive test for him straight out of the gate (assuming our starter doesn’t return by then).

Travis is awful

I think you’ll be surprised. He’s certainly not a proven pocket passer, but he’s smart with the football, throws a nice deep ball, and is extremely dangerous when he breaks contain. We’re all hoping he’s gotten a bit more comfortable/confident standing in and going through his reads, but he’s a playmaker. When he’s been healthy and starting, we’re well above .500 the past couple years. When he hasn’t…it’s been bad. The hope is that that he’s going to have significantly more help around him this year.

Yeesh…if these projections are anywhere close to accurate then it’ll be a really tough ask for our OL and our offense as a whole. Given that, y’all’s new coach/system, what I expect to be a pretty strong FSU defense and what sounds like a youngish LSU OL, I’m starting to lean toward a defensive battle. May be pounding the under bet on Bovada that day.

Agreed that our skill spots are nothing like those of great FSU teams of the past, particularly at WR and TE. Our RBs may surprise you though—#8 Ward had elite YPC numbers last year and is extremely elusive without being overly jukey…he’ll make one move and then explode (that’s what she said). #3 Benson is our big back and he can put his foot in the ground and go too. You’ll likely see him at KR due to that one-cut ability.

What does y’all’s RB room look like? I remember Emory from recruiting and he looked like a stud then. Is he coming along?

f you're around the Dome before kickoff, come see us for some good food and drinks. That pink garage has a giant picture of Zion on it Now. We'll be right under him with a motor home, big arse tent, and a big arse bbq pit. And I'm easy to find; a big bald retard.

Haha I love it dude. If I look up at any point in my drunken stupor that day and see Giant Zion, I’ll be on the lookout for your setup.

Sounds like y’all’s DL will be a stern early test for our revamped OL. We’re not expecting them to be great, but compared to what we’ve been working with at OL since the late Jimbo days—which have consistently been some of the worst units in the power 5–we should be vastly improved. I assume y’all have some quick twitch pass rushers off the edge, and that could give us issues. In contrast to some of the chatter I’ve seen here so far, we’re going to be pretty big across both of our fronts this year (should average close to 320 across our OL, and our DT room is big, talented and deep) though none of our OTs really have elite feet or length, so a dynamic pass rush concerns me.

That said, our QB Travis is tough to corral and electric when he gets into the open field. I think we’re all hoping his pocket awareness improves this year (particularly as he should have more time to process what he’s seeing) and he doesn’t leave a clean pocket to go take a hit in the open field. His health is absolutely essential, as our backups are completely unproven.

Anyway, that’s enough for now, but I look forward to learning more about y’all’s squad and, more importantly, to getting after it in nawlins. Cheers boys.
